riversong

Ask anything, spoil nothing

What it does

Hey Product Hunt! 👋 I built riversong because I kept getting stories spoiled — googling a character's name and instantly seeing something I wished I hadn't. riversong is a spoiler-free AI assistant for books, movies, TV shows, games, etc. You can ask it questions about the story you're enjoying without the fear that comes with landing on a wiki page that tells you EVERYTHING. No more tiptoeing around wikis. No more accidentally ruining your own experience.

Does the same job

    I built an AI that turns any book into a text adventure game2025 · kathaaverse.com · ▲280

It's a web app that uses AI to turn any book into a playable text adventure. Your favorite book, but your choices, hence your story. You can even "remix" the genre like playing Dune as a noir detective story. Note: Work in progress. Suggestions are welcome.

    I built an app so I could read the 3 Body-Problem in Chinese2025 · readly.ink · ▲29

Hey HN! I’m Alex, and one of my favorite ways to learn languages is by reading novels. Currently I’m reading 三体 (3 body problem), but one problem I've always had is it takes ages to look up words, and add them to Anki flashcards so I can remember them. 三体 is especially brutal with so much sci-fi vocab. That’s why I built Readly. I snap a pic of the page I’m reading, it loads the text in-app and lets me lookup words, add to Anki-style flashcards, or ask AI questions about the text, all in a single tap. It's a huge time saver. My specific learning strategy, if anyone wants to replicate it: 1.…

    I created a reverse search engine to find the source of anime clips.2024 · cleithral.com · ▲41

Hi, my name is Rayn. I am a solo independent entrepreneur. Initially, my only reason for learning was to make tons of money, but after completing the learning process, I was very confused about what my first project on the internet should be. I started browsing the internet for ideas but got bored and wasted time on social media. I noticed that in the comment sections of anime clips, many people were asking for the anime name and episode. That's when I thought, "Let's make an anime reverse search engine," and boom, Cleithral was born. Just upload a video, image, or gif, and it will give you…

  • I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.

  • Hey HN, Henry from Cactus here! We previously released Cactus Needle, a 14MB agentic LLM for tool call, device use, and structured extraction for phones, wearables, smart homes, small robots and microcontrollers. We got really great feedback here, and have now incorporated the suggestions to release Needle 2. The whole model is a single 14MB binary that runs a full session in 28MB of RAM; 45m parameters at 2bit compression. Needle hits 500 tokens/sec decode speed on a Raspberry Pi 5, sits between 400-1,500 tokens/sec on VR devices like Meta Quest 3S and Apple Vision Pro, and ranges…

With social media and now AI, its important to keep the indie web alive. There are many people who write frequently. Blogosphere tries to highlight them by fetching the recent posts from personal blogs across many categories. There are two versions: Minimal (HN-inspired, fast, static): https://text.blogosphere.app/ Non-minimal: https://blogosphere.app/ If you don't find your blog (or your favorite ones), please add them. I will review and approve it.
