Rosea

Your personal rosacea diary — private, on-device, no account

What it does

Rosea started as an app I built for my wife — diagnosed with rosacea after a lifetime of facial redness, asked by her dermatologist to track daily triggers. An Excel sheet lasted a week. So I built something better. Log daily severity, symptoms, and triggers (weather, food, emotions, cosmetics, activity, medication). Get weekly pattern reports. Export a PDF or CSV for your dermatologist. Everything stays on your device. No account. No cloud. No subscription.

Hey HN, after the app I actually used to track my period wanted me to log in and save my data in the cloud, I decided to write my own. Most apps in this area are based on a subscription model and display far too much information anyway. For me, a simple calendar is enough where I can add a few notes if necessary. So that is the result of my work - a simple design and the data is only saved on the smartphone.

I kept trying to explain how important outdoor light is and how most people aren’t getting enough. Eventually I figured that showing is more effective than telling. So we built a free app that uses your Apple Watch or iPhone to automatically track your light exposure throughout the day. It tells you if you’re getting enough, shows you how consistent you are, and rewards habits that support hormone balance. It's in beta on TestFlight, let me know what you think!

With social media and now AI, its important to keep the indie web alive. There are many people who write frequently. Blogosphere tries to highlight them by fetching the recent posts from personal blogs across many categories. There are two versions: Minimal (HN-inspired, fast, static): https://text.blogosphere.app/ Non-minimal: https://blogosphere.app/ If you don't find your blog (or your favorite ones), please add them. I will review and approve it.
