RustMailer
A self-hosted IMAP/SMTP middleware designed for developers
RustMailer launched on August 20, 2025 with 4 votes. The site was still online in September 2026, 1 year on.
What it does
RustMailer is a self-hosted, open-source email API platform for syncing IMAP, sending SMTP, and integrating via webhooks. It supports multi-account sync, programmable filters with VRL, NATS delivery, gRPC & OpenAPI, plus a built-in web client.
Connect to IMAP , Gmail API , and Graph API through one unified REST and gRPC interface. Self-hosted, event-driven, and open source. Stop wrestling with email protocols and webhooks. Let RustMailer handle the plumbing. After struggling with other unified email middleware layer services — both paid and open-source — we were frustrated with scalability, forced sales calls, and deceptive pricing. RustMailer was a breath of fresh air. While we initially hesitated to choose a relatively new middleware solution, we quickly discovered it met our requirements better than any established alternative. The support has been outstanding. The team doesn't just respond to requests — they actively…from rustmailer.com

Talanoa▲346Hi HN, I’m a fullstack developer, and honestly, I’ve lost count of how many side projects I’ve worked on over the years. But one idea kept coming back to me: a different kind of email client. It first came to me in 2014: “What if we could handle emails more like conversations?” Every year, I’d revisit this concept in my “Build Notes.” Ten years later, no one had built exactly what I had in mind — so I finally decided to do it myself. That’s how Talanoa was born. I wanted something focused on people, not timelines. I was tired of marking messages as unread just to remember to reply later, or…

I built the world's most impractical 1000-pixel display and anyone in the world can draw on it. It draws a single pixel at a time and takes 30-60 minutes to complete a single image. Anyone can participate in the project by voting for the next image to be drawn, and submitting images. https://kilopx.com/

Kitten TTS is an open-source series of tiny and expressive text-to-speech models for on-device applications. We are excited to launch a preview of our smallest model, which is less than 25 MB. This model has 15M parameters. This release supports English text-to-speech applications in eight voices: four male and four female. The model is quantized to int8 + fp16, and it uses onnx for runtime. The model is designed to run literally anywhere eg. raspberry pi, low-end smartphones, wearables, browsers etc. No GPU required! We're releasing this to give early users a sense of the latency and voices…

I was wondering how I can arrange objects along a spherical helix path, and read some articles on it. I ended up learning about parametric equations again, and make this visualization to document what I learned: https://visualrambling.space/moving-objects-in-3d/ feel free to visit and let me know what you think!

For HTML Day 2025 [1], I made a web service that displays the current sky at your approximate location as a CSS gradient. Colours are simulated on-demand using atmospheric absorption and scattering coefficients. Updates every minute, without the use of client-side JavaScript.
