What it does
ScanEdit Pro lets you edit scanned PDFs and images directly in your browser — everything runs client-side, nothing is ever uploaded. Run OCR, then select a word, line, sentence, or paragraph right on the document and edit it in place. The background is cleaned automatically; font, size, style, and color are yours to adjust until the fix blends in. Reposition text by dragging or with arrow keys. Multi-page PDF export included. Built for legal, medical, and confidential-document workflows.

I just realized you can now open a PDF document in Firefox and select text directly from scanned images embedded in the document (so basically transparently reliable doing OCR). It is also surprisingly reliable, only sometimes mistaking a "oh" for a "zero" in a long string of numbers. I neither know when this was introduced nor who added this feature, but from the bottom of my heart: thank you, thank you, thank you, you have made my daily life a lot easier.
