In plain words

Sedy is a GitHub bot that automates simple code fixes during pull request reviews. It interprets sed-style commands in code review comments to make typo corrections and minor text replacements directly in code. Designed for development teams conducting frequent code reviews, Sedy reduces reviewer workload by handling straightforward edits automatically, allowing reviewers to focus on more substantive feedback.

From the sources

We do code reviews on pull requests several times a day. All the code we push to production is, at least, read twice. But sometimes the required fix is so easy, the reviewer could fix it themselves: The next logical step is to help developers even further, and let a bot do simple replacements. That would reduce the required work resulting from a code review to edits with a real added value. Sedy brings the power of the Linux sed command to Github comments. It’s a bot registered as a GitHub user, who listens to code review comments under the shape s/[search pattern]/[replace]/ , and tries to do the substitution. If it succeeds, it pushes the result to the pull request. In many cases, pull…from marmelab.com

  • Semble – Code search for agents that uses 98% fewer tokens than grepMay 2026 · github.com · ▲445

Hey HN! We (Stephan and Thomas) recently open-sourced Semble. We kept running into the same problem while using Claude Code on large codebases: when the agent can't find something directly, it falls back to grep, reading full files or launching subagents. This uses a lot of tokens, and often still misses the relevant code. There are existing tools for this, but they were either too slow to index on demand, needed API keys, or had poor retrieval quality. Semble is our solution for this. It combines static Model2Vec embeddings (using our latest static model: potion-code-16M) with BM25, fused…

    Crocodile - Better code review for GitHub2022 · crocodile.dev · ▲144

Hi HN! I've been working on a code review app for GitHub called Crocodile for about a year. I used to work at Microsoft where we used a tool called CodeFlow for reviewing code and I missed it after I left. I know many other ex-Microsoft engineers feel the same. Here are some of the distinguishing features of Crocodile that are inspired by CodeFlow: * Comments float above the code instead of being inline. Long discussions that are displayed inline make it really hard to review the code. * Comment on any text selection in the file, even a single character. * Comments don't get lost when code…

Hi HN, I’m a fullstack developer, and honestly, I’ve lost count of how many side projects I’ve worked on over the years. But one idea kept coming back to me: a different kind of email client. It first came to me in 2014: “What if we could handle emails more like conversations?” Every year, I’d revisit this concept in my “Build Notes.” Ten years later, no one had built exactly what I had in mind — so I finally decided to do it myself. That’s how Talanoa was born. I wanted something focused on people, not timelines. I was tired of marking messages as unread just to remember to reply later, or…
