In plain words

Self-Parking Car Evolution is a simulation tool that demonstrates how autonomous vehicles learn to park themselves. Launched in 2021, it uses evolutionary algorithms to show the progression of self-parking capabilities over time. The tool is designed for anyone interested in understanding how machine learning and artificial intelligence can be applied to vehicle automation. It provides an interactive way to observe computational evolution in action.

Moving to California? Trying to pick between counties/cities? CaliVibe puts 12+ data layers on one interactive map so you can compare any county or city side by side – housing costs, income, crime, education, race/ethnicity, age, poverty, temperature, sunshine, transit, population, and 3D terrain. 100% open-source. Written in English, compiled by Claude Code.

    How I built a self-driving (RC) car.2012 · blog.davidsingleton.org · ▲300

I have been taking Andrew Ng's Machine Learning course. The lecture module on Neural Networks ends with an intriguing video of the ALVINN autonomous car driving itself along normal roads at CMU in the mid 90s. I was inspired by that video to see what I could build myself. A link to my incomplete write up was posted a couple of weeks ago (ouch!) but I finally finished it and open sourced the code tonight (so you can build your own self driving car). What do you think? http://blog.davidsingleton.org/nnrccar https://github.com/dps/nnrccar

Hi HN, I’m a fullstack developer, and honestly, I’ve lost count of how many side projects I’ve worked on over the years. But one idea kept coming back to me: a different kind of email client. It first came to me in 2014: “What if we could handle emails more like conversations?” Every year, I’d revisit this concept in my “Build Notes.” Ten years later, no one had built exactly what I had in mind — so I finally decided to do it myself. That’s how Talanoa was born. I wanted something focused on people, not timelines. I was tired of marking messages as unread just to remember to reply later, or…
