Shinobi
Local-first memory layer for AI coding agents
Shinobi launched on June 3, 2026 with 2 votes.
What it does
Your AI agent forgets every session. Shinobi gives it persistent memory — decisions, dead-ends, mobile push approvals, multi-machine sync. Local SQLite, no cloud. MIT licensed. MCP server works with Claude Code, Cursor, Cline, Continue.dev, Zed.
Local SQLite + MCP task management your AI agents share across sessions. Decisions stay. Dead-ends remembered. Approvals from your phone.
Shinobi is a local SQLite + MCP task spine. Claude Code, Cursor, and your custom agents all read the same project, log the same decisions, and respect the same dead-ends — across sessions, across machines, across the room from your phone. Every AI agent claims tasks, marks them complete, and sees the others' progress through one MCP server. No more "did Cursor already do this?" "We picked Postgres over MongoDB because…" lives in the project memory. Next session's agent reads it before suggesting MongoDB again. What you've already tried and ruled out. Agents check it before proposing the same broken approach for the third time. N agents drain the backlog overnight, each on its own branch,…from shinobi-apps.com

Homebrew 6.0.0▲1,481Today, I’m proud to announce Homebrew 6.0.0. The most significant changes since 5.1.0 are a new tap trust security mechanism, the new faster, smaller, default internal Homebrew JSON API, sandboxing on Linux, better defaults informed by our user survey, many brew bundle improvements, improved performance and initial support for macOS 27 (Golden Gate). Happy to discuss any questions here!

Hi HN! I was super frustrated at apps like tiktok and wechat preventing me from saving or downloading the animated gifs, so I made a little tool to turn a screen recording into a slack-sized emoji. Hope you get some value from this!
