Shmelo

Hey HN, I built Shmelo as a little break from work stuff. Its a simple leaderboard for games with friends: set it up fast, log games, share a public link. Works with any game as long as it has winners and losers. Rankings use elo system (like chess). it stays fair even if people miss a few sessions. You can also see how rankings change over time, and tap into more stats if you want. Feedback appreciated. Cheers!

What it does

Leaderboard for board games, chess, tennis, padel, or any other game with winners and losers. Track wins, follow rankings, and always stay competitive.

Game tracker and scoreboard app for any competition. Track wins, rankings, and stats with automatic Elo ratings. Perfect for board games, tennis, ping pong, and more.

In the maker’s words, at launch

Hi HN, I made a simple little app to keep track of game rankings with friends. It uses the Elo system (like in chess) to adjust scores after each game. Works for board games, chess, padel, tennis, or anything that’s competitive. It’s free — give it a try

  • Hello my name is Ben Ward for the past 3 years I have been remastering the financial game Wall Street Raider created by Michael Jenkins originally on DOS in 1986. It has been a rough journey but I finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. I just recently redid the website and thought maybe the full story of how this project came to be would interest you all. Thank you for reading.
