SMS Reminders for Birthdays
I built a simple service that sends SMS reminders for birthdays. Why? I kept missing birthdays, even with calendar apps. This single-purpose tool is simple and (so far) reliable. Since my texting inbox has a far better signal-to-noise ratio than email or calendar events, it ensures I never miss an important date. Facebook used to serve the same purpose, but it's a dying social graph for me.
SMS Reminders for Birthdays launched on December 25, 2024 with 6 votes and more than 50% of that year's launches. The site was still online in September 2026, 1 year on.
What it does
Never miss a birthday again! BirthdayTexts.com offers free SMS birthday reminder texts and serves as the perfect alternative to Facebook birthday notifications.
Sign up with your phone number and verify with a simple SMS code. Enter names and dates manually or import from your contacts. Receive SMS reminders for birthdays. Never forget to celebrate again. 🎂 Reminder: Sarah Johnson's birthday is today! Don't forget to wish her a happy birthday. Import from any calendar. Get reminders by text. Import from Google Calendar, Outlook, or Apple Calendar — then get SMS reminders automatically. Add birthdays, view upcoming reminders, and import birthdays from your calendar. This is what your dashboard will look like with yourfrom birthdaytexts.com

The app has been slowly growing since 2023, and is now up to 739 paying users (mostly on the $9/yr plan, with a few paying $3/yr). Earlier this year, I built a Google Calendar integration to automatically sync…
