SOC 2 Readiness Kit
SOC 2 audit prep for a fraction of the consultant bill
What it does
SOC 2 audits routinely cost $10k to $200k, and most of that pays a consultant to draft the same 12 policy documents every company needs. This kit gives you those already written: 12 audit-ready policies, a 29-item gap analysis checklist, and an evidence tracker covering what auditors actually check. Fill in your details, adjust what doesn't apply, and walk into your audit with real documentation instead of a blank page. Not a certification, just a real starting point.
SOC 2 readiness kit: policies, an interactive gap analysis, and an evidence tracker, for a fraction of what an audit prep firm charges.
12 policies, a gap analysis, and an evidence tracker — the documentation a consultant would bill you thousands for, already written. You adapt it to how your company actually operates. Nobody's disputing what the auditor itself charges — the market sets that, and there's no shortcut around it. What is avoidable is paying that same order of magnitude just to have someone write your access control policy or your gap analysis from a blank page. Covers Information Security, Access Control, Acceptable Use, Data Classification, Incident Response, Change Management, Vendor Risk, Business Continuity, Risk Assessment, Passwords, Encryption, and Onboarding/Offboarding. This isn't a certification —…from soc2kit.netlify.app

Hi HN, I built Eigendrum, a web tool that solves the 2D wave equation for arbitrary shapes so you can hear what they sound like as drums. How it works: * Solves -∇²u = λu using finite element analysis (Kφ = λMφ) on a triangle mesh. * Validated to <0.1% error against closed-form solutions for circles (Bessel zeros) and rectangles. * Sound model factors in strike location, Rayleigh damping, and mallet width. * Includes Kac drums I & II to demonstrate identical sound spectra from different geometries. * No frameworks, build steps, or dependencies. Repo and tests:…

I made OwnTime to balance between competing priorities in my life. The idea is based on two main influences: the concept of "roles" from "The 5 Choices" (2015), and my repeated failure to effectively implement time blocking due to the necessary flexibility in my role. The app allows you to define time budgets, which are not much more than a few mutually exclusive countdown timers. The UX is essentially that of a chess clock for an arbitrary number of players with configurable time. The whole point of the app is to kick you out of the running role/priority when its time is up. One…
