What it does

Tired of Cmd-Tabbing just to skip a track? Sonant is a native, lightweight macOS menu bar app that gives you total control over Apple Music and Spotify. Built with a glass like aesthetic, it features: Now Playing: Track info, album art, and scrubbing at a glance. Live Visualizer: Real-time 4-band audio visualization. Native & Fast: 3.5MB universal binary (Apple Silicon + Intel). Privacy First: No accounts and local processing only. 7-day free trial included!

A Spotify and Apple Music controller that lives in your Mac menu bar. Glass-style pill with album art, playback, seekable progress, and a live visualizer. Free 7-day trial.

A glass-style controller that lives in your macOS menu bar. Album art, playback, a live visualizer, always one glance away. No Dock icon. No extra window. No clutter. Song titles slide smoothly on hover with soft fade masks. Static when idle, animated when you need it. Buttons light up individually with spring physics. Responsive, tactile, and satisfying every time. The progress bar expands on hover and reveals a draggable thumb. Scrub to any point in the track. Four bars driven by a CoreAudio process tap that reads your actual audio output in real time. Drag it to Applications. It lives in your menu bar. No Dock icon, no windows. Open Apple Music or Spotify and hit play. Sonant…from sonant.tbtech.app

  • Needle: We Distilled Gemini Tool Calling into a 26M Model▲776

Hey HN, Henry here from Cactus. We open-sourced Needle, a 26M parameter function-calling (tool use) model. It runs at 6000 tok/s prefill and 1200 tok/s decode on consumer devices. We were always frustrated by the little effort made towards building agentic models that run on budget phones, so we conducted investigations that led to an observation: agentic experiences are built upon tool calling, and massive models are overkill for it. Tool calling is fundamentally retrieval-and-assembly (match query to tool name, extract argument values, emit JSON), not reasoning. Cross-attention…
