In plain words

This is an HTML5 demonstration of sorting a 50,000-item array using bubble sort with Web Workers. It shows how Web Workers allow browsers to perform heavy computational tasks in the background without freezing the user interface. The demo illustrates the difference between sorting with and without Web Workers, displaying an animated progress bar that updates in real time only when the sorting runs on a separate thread, enabling users to interact with the browser simultaneously.

From the sources

As you can see, without Web Worker, your browser maybe able to sort the 50K Array but you can't work with your browser while sorting and also your browser won't render anything until sorting ends, that's why you can't see the animated progress bar in the page. Your browser sorted 50K Array without any crash or lagging, because your browser supports Web Worker. When you do a job with Web Worker, it's just like when you run a program in another thread. Also you can see the animated progress bar whilefrom afshinm.github.io

  • Bubble sort on a Turing machineFeb 2026 · github.com · ▲12

Bubble sort is pretty simple in most programming languages ... what about on a Turing Machine? I used all three of Claude 4.6, GLM 5, and GPT 5.2 to get a result, so this exercise was not quite trivial, at least at this time. The resulting machine, bubble_sort_unary.yaml, will take this input: 111011011111110101111101111 and give this output: 101101110111101111101111111 I.e., it's sorting the array [3,2,7,1,5,4]. The machine has 31 states and requires 1424 steps before it comes to a halt. It also introduces two extra symbols onto the tape, 'A' and 'B'. (You could argue that 0 is also an…
