What it does

Star Me helps open-source maintainers turn README visitors into GitHub stars. Paste any GitHub repo URL and it generates a lightweight animated SVG that shows exactly where to click the Star button. You can embed it directly in your README, docs, or site in seconds. No heavy scripts, no complex setup, just a simple visual prompt designed to increase visibility and make starring your project feel natural.

Star Me generates a lightweight animated SVG for your README. It replays the GitHub ★ Star action so visitors notice it at the right moment. Free quota is limited. We recommend using your own token for stable generation and higher API limits. Safety: token is sent only in request headers, never put into URL, and saved only in this browser (localStorage on this device). Recommended: use a fine-grained PAT with read-only access to the repository you want to render. Use the trash icon to remove the saved token from this browser.
