Build the language confidence from the start

Taalhammer launched on April 2, 2020 with 1 votes. The site was still online in September 2026, 6 years on.

What it does

Taalahmmer app was designed for rapid language learning. Our core value is the language confidence. Our users gain the confidence since the start thanks to smart Spaced Repetition algorithm and probabilistic methods used while curating the content.

Taalhammer is speech training, not a tapping game: attempts, misses and whole-sentence reps — until sentences come out on their own. Core courses A1–C2, spaced repetition, Language Radio.

This is not a tapping game. This is speech training: attempts, misses and reps — until sentences come out on their own. A real conversation never hands you four answers to choose from. It demands that you produce a sentence — no hints, spontaneously, fast. That is exactly what you train here. You speak and write from memory instead of tapping ready-made options. It is harder — and it is the only thing that transfers to conversation. You fail a lot — by design. Like real training: after a good session you feel the effort, because your brain actually worked. You rep full sentences like tokens until they become reflex. Grammar starts to feel natural from use, not from tables. Ready-made paths…from taalhammer.com

I’m thrilled to introduce lwlnow, a web app designed to assist language learners in enhancing their listening, vocabulary, and writing skills through dictation-based practice—a technique that is both versatile and impactful. Why we developed it: Most language apps focus on passive learning or game-like memorization techniques. However, true fluency emerges when you train your brain to understand native speech and respond accurately. Dictation stands out as one of the most effective yet underappreciated methods for skill-building: You listen to a native sentence. You type exactly what you…

  • I speak 5 languages. Common apps taught me none. So I built lairnerFeb 2026 · lairner.com · ▲35

I'm Tim. I speak German, English, French, Turkish, and Chinese. I learned Turkish with lairner itself -- after I built it. That's the best proof I can give you that this thing actually works. The other four I learned the hard way: talking to people, making mistakes, reading things I actually cared about, and being surrounded by the language until my brain gave in. Every language app I tried got the same thing wrong: they teach you to pass exercises, not to speak. You finish a lesson, you get your dopamine hit, you maintain your streak, and six months later you still can't order food in the…

Hupreter – Create apps by describing them in English2021 · ▲57

Hi HN! Fernando here. A few months ago [1], I shared Hupreter (https://hupreter.com) with you all and now I am finally opening it up so that everyone can try it for free. The goal is to let users create apps and process data effortlessly, by just describing what the computer should do, in spoken English. We have made a lot of progress since the first post, and even though it is far from perfect, I really want to see how people use it and get feedback. In terms of creating apps, it supports persisting data (you can store/retrieve values), if statements, while loops, etc. For…

    I built a small app for FSI German CourseApr 2026 · detawk.com · ▲53

Hi everyone. I am built a small application on top of FSI German basic course and I need some feedback regarding it. It is a small web app. Currently only Unit 01 is available. I will feed in the rest of the units later down the road as I use it myself. Some of the features includes - Slow and fast audio with every single word and sentence in this app. You can play them with a click of a button. No need to rewind a tap back and forth. - Flashcards with keyboard control to quickly go through the material and drill them out. You can access the website at https://detawk.com/ .…

  • https://github.com/OlexG/finclaw ^ repo if anyone wants to contribute. I realized that sometimes I'm pretty good at making random guesses about the future. (I.E, I think OpenAI will beat Anthropic in the short term, etc...) However, I'm bad at converting these guesses into actual market plays I can profit from. As such, I wanted to make a tool that connects to the right APIs and launches a swarm of agent experts to generate related plays based on your prediction. The very first super shitty V0 MPV just has Polymarket/Kalshi bets, but I will be adding a more complex…
