Tasmap
Hi there, I just saw a cool city map project (https://github.com/originalankur/maptoposter) gaining some attention on Hacker News. I'm building a similar product so I want to share it with you. If you're interested in beautiful maps, maybe give Tasmap a try. It's not just a static, beautiful map; it's dynamic and interactive, and connected with articles. There are 20+ well designed themes, and if you're not good at design, you can even have AI design it for you. You can embed it in your site or install it as an app on your phone. You can create a beautiful and useful map.…

What it does
Tasmap is a web app to easily create a beautiful interactive map with your story.
Tasmap is the Canva for Maps. Turn your data, stories, and insights into beautiful and interactive maps in minutes - no engineering or design degree needed.
Clean and calm maps. No noise, no ads. Just focus on your content. Make your content the focus → Taste builds trust. Don't let a bad map hurt your brand. Create an on-brand map → Turn your knowledge into a beautiful, interactive map, not boring PDFs. Build your knowledge as a map → Map is much more than just locations. Put them in your story, not in 15 different browser tabs. Tell the whole story on one map → Don’t build another map app. It wastes money, and nobody wants to install one more app. Launch your map like an app → Leaf & Line keeps a focused edit of art books, contemporary literature, independent magazines, and gifts chosen for slow browsing. We do not try to stock everything. We…from tasmap.app

We recently added a data import feature that supports CSV, TSV, XLSX, GeoJSON, GPX, KML, and KMZ formats, so you can migrate your data from most map platforms. Give it a try and let me…

MapScroll2025 · mapscroll.ai · ▲109Hi HN, I built this after getting frustrated trying to map out things like “Ancient mayan ruins” or “James Bond movie locations” on Google "My" Maps. You basically have to drop pins manually, hunt down photos, copy links, it’s slow and never feels like an actual story. With MapScroll, you just type something like “Marco Polo’s route” or “forgotten WWII sites in France”, and it geocodes, grabs images + articles, and plots everything into a shareable story map. Each marker comes with a little gallery and sources tied to your prompt. You can also refine the first draft which AI creates before…
Desert Atlas, a self-hosted OpenStreetMap app for Sandstorm2023 · sandstorm.org · ▲101Hi all, This project release is a long time coming. It was a big uphill battle, and by far my largest endeavor so far. I built it for Sandstorm because I believe in Sandstorm's model, and I wanted to show that there's still life and potential in it. If you're inspired, joining our OpenCollective would be really helpful: https://opencollective.com/sandstormcommunity (keeping in mind that Sandstorm has now moved from its original leadership to a community project https://sandstorm.org/news/2023-11-03-from-io-to-org). You can also join our mailing list or…

Hey folks. Last year I was fortunate enough to sign a deal to write a book with my favorite technical publisher, The Pragmatic Bookshelf. When I started out as an Engineering Manager many years ago, I found that there wasn't a huge amount of material that specifically and practically helped me understand how to do my job. When you learn to program there's all of these amazing tutorials, examples and guides, but what was there for new managers? In response to this, a couple of years ago I started a blog over at https://www.theengineeringmanager.com which got a decent amount of…
