Teach Your Parents Smartphone

My parents got super confused when PhonePe (payment app in India) updated their app overnight. They immediately blamed me for "breaking their phone" lol. I had to spend an hour showing them how to use the new design. Same thing happened with WhatsApp video calls. I realized this is a common problem - we teach our parents tech stuff once, but they forget because they don't practice enough. So I made this tool that lets my parents practice using apps through step-by-step tutorials at their own pace. No one rushing them, no one judging. The goal? What it does

In the maker’s words, at launch

My parents got super confused when PhonePe (payment app in India) updated their app overnight. They immediately blamed me for "breaking their phone" lol. So I made this tool that lets my parents practice using apps through step-by-step tutorials at their own pace. No one rushing them, no one judging. The goal? Help my parents feel more confident with technology and give them a safe space to practice without feeling stupid for asking the same questions over and over. Just Launched an App for Dads2022 · ▲116

Hey there, First time posting on HN. We're looking for feedback from parents. We're 2 dads who started working on Dadditude in the midst of covid lockdowns last year. Being a dad can be a long, emotional, draining, and lonely journey. Through our research we learned that dads want to improve their parenting but are too shy to ask for help, and are tired of reading content online written for mums. We set out to fix that and create a platform that would help dads feel seen, validated, and supported. By helping dads, we hope to support moms and partners too, because all parents deserve more…

    App to Help Parents Explain Anything to Kids–and Parenting Questions2025 · studyturtle.com · ▲5

I just built an app for children and parents to ask questions to explain to kids and to for parents to ask how to deal with any parenting situation. For example a 4 year old may ask “why does the plate break when it falls?” Sometimes it can be hard to answer that in a way that a child can understand. The system will go out and scour the web for information the topic, and then rewrite in a kid friendly and safe way. It goes and finds related images, videos, products and reference links. It also gives related words ,quiz, and some games and experiments to try with your child to see if they are…

Hi everyone, I built PyXL — a hardware processor that executes a custom assembly generated from Python programs, without using a traditional interpreter or virtual machine. It compiles Python -> CPython Bytecode -> Instruction set designed for direct hardware execution. I’m sharing an early benchmark: a GPIO test where PyXL achieves a 480ns round-trip toggle — compared to 14-25 micro seconds on a MicroPython Pyboard - even though PyXL runs at a lower clock (100MHz vs. 168MHz). The design is stack-based, fully pipelined, and preserves Python's dynamic typing without static type restrictions.…
