What it does
Tenoa saves what you find (pages, images, PDFs, YouTube with transcripts) as plain Markdown files in a folder you own. A local model writes summaries and tags on your machine. Search by meaning. Devices sync directly to each other, encrypted, with no server that can read your library. Delete the app and your files are still there. Launching September 1 on desktop, with free iPhone and iPad apps.

Drop in a PDF or write a note. Capture it before a folder decision gets in the way. Search reads what you saved, even when the filename tells you nothing. A photograph, a paper, or an idea buried in a video can come back from a plain-language search. Keep summaries, key points, and extracted text beside the original. I made OwnTime to balance between competing priorities in my life. The idea is based on two main influences: the concept of "roles" from "The 5 Choices" (2015), and my repeated failure to effectively implement time blocking due to the necessary flexibility in my role. The app allows you to define time budgets, which are not much more than a few mutually exclusive countdown timers.
