The tip amount is your bill multiplied by the tip percentage: tip = bill × (percent ÷ 100) . For a $50 bill at 20%, that's $50 × 0.20 = $10 tip. The total is simply bill + tip . If you're splitting between a group, the per-person amount is total ÷ number of people — so a $60 total split three ways works out to $20 each. This calculator uses even splitting by default, meaning everyone pays the same share regardless of what they individually ordered. If your group wants to split by what each person actually spent, add up each person's items separately, then apply the same tip percentage to their portion.
