The Hisaab
Free bill splitter for India — split bills, not friendships
The Hisaab launched on April 17, 2026.
What it does
The Hisaab is a free expense splitting app built specifically for India — the Splitwise alternative that actually makes sense here. No paywalls. No ads. Works offline. INR first. Built for how Indians actually split money: → Group trips (Goa, Manali, Rishikesh) → Flatmate & PG expenses → Couples tracking shared costs What makes it different from Splitwise: → Completely free forever — no "premium" features 350+ users in 60 days, zero paid marketing, made by a solo Indian developer.
Free Splitwise alternative for India. UPI-native, works offline, no ads. Friends view shared groups via link — no signup needed. For rent, flatmates, trips.
Made for Indian rent groups, flatmates, and trip crews. UPI-native, works offline, free forever. Group trips, shared dinners, splitting rent — the money conversations always get awkward. WhatsApp threads turn into chaos. Excel sheets never get updated. Someone always "adjusts." Smart splits, smart math, smart settle. Every step takes seconds — no spreadsheets, no group-chat math battles. Trip, Home, Couple, or Other. Add friends from your phone book in one tap. Smart 1k chip, smart split. Save in seconds. The math is done before you blink. Share a UPI link. Friends tap. Money lands. No awkward asks. Equal or custom splits. One-tap UPI settle. Instant group balance view. That's it. Built a ~9M param LLM from scratch to understand how they actually work. Vanilla transformer, 60K synthetic conversations, ~130 lines of PyTorch. Trains in 5 min on a free Colab T4. The fish thinks the meaning of life is food. Fork it and swap the personality for your own character.

With social media and now AI, its important to keep the indie web alive. There are many people who write frequently. Blogosphere tries to highlight them by fetching the recent posts from personal blogs across many categories. There are two versions: Minimal (HN-inspired, fast, static): https://text.blogosphere.app/ Non-minimal: https://blogosphere.app/ If you don't find your blog (or your favorite ones), please add them. I will review and approve it.
