Threat Road
Hey HN, I got tired of cybersecurity news reading like a compliance manual written by a sleep-deprived lawyer, so I built Threat Road — a daily, 5-minute, plain-English cybersecurity briefing that’s actually fun. Would love your feedback, especially from people who do IR, AppSec, dev, ops, or just like watching the internet catch fire in slow motion. (And if you hate it, tell me why so I can fix it before it becomes another abandoned Substack graveyard.)
Threat Road launched on November 27, 2025 with 57 votes, #441 of 9,796 launches that month and more than 90% of that year's launches.
What it does
Infosec news that doesn’t make you want to quit tech.
Understand the risk. Ignore the noise. Do the useful thing. Click to read Threat Road, a Substack publication.

Looking to get some feedback from the Hacker News community. You can pick up a copy for free here through May 19, 2019: https://gumroad.com/l/the_cyber_plumbers_handbook/hackernews... Please note, because it's hosted on Gumroad, it does require an email. If you don't want to give out your actual email, check out an anonymous email service. I give it away to students for free, so if you know of one that…
TL;DR2025 · tl-dr.tv · ▲199I love Hacker News but I rarely have time to read full articles / comments, so I built a simple site to summarize the top posts & comments to make it easier to get a big picture. A few implementation details: - It pulls the top stories from the HN Firebase API (`/v0/topstories`) - Filters stories with >200 points - Uses Claude Sonnet for post + comment summaries - Tries to capture the sentiment of the comments (still working on improving this) - Refreshes both posts + summaries hourly It has already helped me I hope it helps you! Please let me know if you have any feedback --…
