Throwdown!

Make great debates happen.

Visit throwdown.meAlternativestop 14% of February 2026

What it does

Throwdown turns internet arguments into real debates. Propose a matchup, the community votes to show demand, and once both participants agree, it opens for crowdfunding. Funds go to the debaters and production. If it’s funded, the debate happens. If not, donations are refunded. Demand first. Commitment second. Debate live.

We made a site to crowd fund lobbying.2012 · ▲50

Hey guys, So we made this site with the goal of funding a lobbyist to represent the 99%. The money comes from small pledges of $5 and up. So far we've raised nearly $10k in under a week. We're focusing fund raising efforts on causes. I'm the founder and lead developer, and I'd love to hear this community's thoughts on the project as well as answer any questions. Thanks guys! http://www.wethelobby.com/

    I built a platform where audiences fund debates between public thinkersNov 2025 · logosive.com · ▲42

Hey HN, I built Logosive because I want to see certain debates between my favorite thinkers (especially in health/wellness, tech, and public policy), but there's no way for regular people to make these happen. With Logosive, you propose a debate topic and debaters. We then handle outreach, ticket sales, and logistics. After the debate, ticket revenue is split between everyone involved, including the person that proposed the debate, the debaters, and the host. Logosive is built with Django, htmx, and Alpine.js. Claude generates the debate launch pages, including suggesting debaters or…

    I made a competitive debating game(like chess.com but for debating)2025 · crs-prod-rankeddebate-l4dnggfaca-nn.a.run.app · ▲17

Got tired of my debates with my friend's ending in "I'm right bc I said so" so I made a platform where you can debate with your friend's(or a bot, recently added feature) about whatever you want, and after the debate is done a LLM judges who's more sound in logic. Gain points and climb the leaderboard! Feedback and criticism would be appreciated(there's a discord in there if you wanna talk more in depth) p.s.: I decided to use google acc sign in since it makes the whole thing easier to manage(live chatroom feature, etc.). I don't actually do anything with your emails
