Token Diet is a free, open-source tool that counts tokens in any prompt and optimizes it to use fewer tokens - lowering the cost of LLM and AI API calls. Runs entirely client-side with no login and no data leaving the page. Built by the Ranker team.

Trim the fat from your prompts. Same instructions, fewer tokens, a smaller AI bill. Every token costs money and eats your context window. Bloated prompts quietly burn budget at scale, especially anything you run thousands of times. The normal diet runs in your browser. Prompt Lock is optional and uses your own OpenRouter key. Optional AI pass with DeepSeek V4 Flash on OpenRouter. Your key is only used for this request and is not stored by Ranker. Local mode never sends your prompt anywhere. If you use Prompt Lock, your prompt goes directly from this browser to OpenRouter with your own key.
