What it does

TrackEdge turns the edges of your MacBook trackpad into volume and brightness sliders, and its top corners into shortcuts: open an app or a website, press a key combination or run a Shortcut. One-time purchase, $5.

Drag along an edge of the trackpad above, or double-tap a top corner. It's live. The middle of your trackpad works exactly as before. TrackEdge only listens to a thin strip along each edge, and only when a touch starts there. Slide up and down for volume, in the same steps as the volume keys. Brightness of the built-in display, with the familiar on-screen indicator. Double-tap a corner to mute, open an app or a website, press a key combination or run a Shortcut. You choose. Swipe sideways to skip to the next or previous track. Tap to play or pause, if you like. Give each top corner of the trackpad a job.
