Trinket.io now openSource!
Free Coding editor for schools: P5, Python, Java, R, HTML...
What it does
I really appreciate it when services open source their software when they shut down. There's so many amazing sites, software, games, are gone forever because there's no way to access it or replicate it. Trinket.io did exactly that, and now Strive Math have decided to host it for free at trinket.strivemath.org Made for educators, kept alive by educators: no paywalls, no cost. Run Python, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and p5.js in your browser, share it with your students, and know it's here to stay.
Does the same job

I'm launching UneeBee, an open-source tool for creating interactive courses like Duolingo: GitHub repo: https://github.com/zoonk/uneebee Demo: https://app.uneebee.com/ It's pretty early-stage, so there's a lot of things to improve. Everything on this project is going to be public, so you can check the roadmap on GitHub too: https://github.com/orgs/zoonk/projects/11 I'm creating this project because I love Duolingo and I wanted the same kind of experience to learn other things as well. But I think this could be useful to other…

Good math problems are hidden inside textbooks and online documents. To keep up with all the sources in the world is hard. For someone who just wants to continuously solve problems, finding and going through all the sources feels like a hassle. I wished for a website that could just dump all the math problems available in the world out there. And if I could filter the problems by topics, that would be beautiful. teachyourselfmath is a side project that was born out of this need. At its core, it is a math PDF extraction engine. The engine has some machine learning going on behind the scenes…

- OOOpenKnowledge – open source AI-first alternative to Obsidian/NotionJun 2026 · github.com · ▲381
Hi HN, Nick here. We’re launching OpenKnowledge (https://openknowledge.ai/), a “what you see is what you get” markdown editor that has direct integrations with Claude, Codex, and other agents. Available as MacOS app or Web UI+CLI. Fully free/local and OSS. We built this because we wanted a Notion-like experience for writing and sharing markdown files across our team. Obsidian is the best alternative we tried, but found it doesn’t have a true WYSWIG UI and it didn’t integrate well with Claude/Codex outside of community plugins. So we built OpenKnowledge. It takes…

Today, I’m proud to announce Homebrew 6.0.0. The most significant changes since 5.1.0 are a new tap trust security mechanism, the new faster, smaller, default internal Homebrew JSON API, sandboxing on Linux, better defaults informed by our user survey, many brew bundle improvements, improved performance and initial support for macOS 27 (Golden Gate). Happy to discuss any questions here!
