In plain words
TRUST is a development tool that lets programmers write Rust code using 1989-style syntax and conventions. It targets developers who want to use modern Rust's performance and safety features while working with a retro coding aesthetic. The tool bridges contemporary systems programming with vintage programming paradigms, offering a unique approach to language design for those interested in nostalgic development environments.

From the sources
TRUST is a retro TUI IDE for Rust projects inspired by classic blue-screen DOS development environments. Status: experimental nostalgia project. It edits files, browses Rust projects, and runs Cargo commands. In directories without a root Cargo.toml , it can also compile, run, test, and debug the current Rust file directly with rustc . Why? Because Rust deserves a blue-screen IDE from the olden days and someone had to do this. Does it save my files? Yes. Use F2 or Ctrl+S . TRUST marks dirty buffers with * in the editor title. Still, this is more of a fun project so use at your own risk. Is this affiliated with any classic DOS IDE vendor? No. TRUST is an independent nostalgia project…from github.com

Talanoa▲340Hi HN, I’m a fullstack developer, and honestly, I’ve lost count of how many side projects I’ve worked on over the years. But one idea kept coming back to me: a different kind of email client. It first came to me in 2014: “What if we could handle emails more like conversations?” Every year, I’d revisit this concept in my “Build Notes.” Ten years later, no one had built exactly what I had in mind — so I finally decided to do it myself. That’s how Talanoa was born. I wanted something focused on people, not timelines. I was tired of marking messages as unread just to remember to reply later, or…

Hey HN, Henry here from Cactus. We open-sourced Needle, a 26M parameter function-calling (tool use) model. It runs at 6000 tok/s prefill and 1200 tok/s decode on consumer devices. We were always frustrated by the little effort made towards building agentic models that run on budget phones, so we conducted investigations that led to an observation: agentic experiences are built upon tool calling, and massive models are overkill for it. Tool calling is fundamentally retrieval-and-assembly (match query to tool name, extract argument values, emit JSON), not reasoning. Cross-attention…
