What it does
VAT Engine turns official EU TEDB data into a developer-friendly API for e-commerce. Resolve current or historical VAT by country, product class, and supply date; calculate exact tax amounts; store audit-ready transaction evidence; monitor OSS thresholds; and prepare OSS/IOSS reports. It combines EU-27 coverage, 37 merchant-friendly tax classes, source profiles, and compliance reporting in one workflow—without spreadsheets or country-by-country plugins. Currently in alpha.

VAT Engine gives ecommerce and finance teams one EU VAT API for calculation and compliance workflows. Calculate, store, and prepare VAT with official TEDB-backed rates, merchant-friendly tax classes, recorded date-aware rate lookup, and source profiles; current alpha access is free. TEDB SOAP imports run on a schedule. Standard, reduced, super-reduced, parking, and zero rates land in one normalised table with recorded lookup windows. The 88 official categories collapse into 37 merchant-friendly tax classes — books, pharma, accommodation, energy, repairs, transport, and more.
