Vibe-check skill
Howdy friends. I've been a zero to one product manager for 12 plus years and along the way I kept borrowing pieces from different discovery frameworks until I had a methodology of my own, one that actually raises the odds of an idea succeeding. This does not replace user interviews obviously, but it leads you in the right direction. Looking forward for your feedback

What it does
Every coding skill starts after you've decided what to build. vibe-check covers the part before, the part that sinks most projects. It digs out the real problem under your vague idea, pressure-tests it against what people actually gripe about on Reddit, and hands your AI agent a blueprint to follow. It can even tell you no, a real no-go verdict. Other skills help you build it right. This one makes sure you're building the right thing.
By a 12-year product manager who builds 0-to-1: takes a beginner from a vague idea to a buildable plan, then guides the build (GitHub basics, clean-code habits, a verify-and-iterate loop, a checkup for the mess). For Claude Code, Codex, and Antigravity. grill-me is for engineers, vibe-check is for everyone else. - TexasBedouin/vibe-check
vibe-check is live on Product Hunt today. If it helped you, an upvote or a comment there means a lot. A skill for AI coding tools that guides complete beginners from a vague app idea to a buildable blueprint. Every coding skill out there is great... if you already know what you're building. That's the catch. Most of them start the moment you've decided what to make. The hard part, the part that sinks most projects, happens before that. That's the part I spent 12-plus years doing as a product manager, taking things from zero to one. vibe-check is that work, turned into a skill. You come in with a vague idea. It helps you dig out the real problem hiding underneath it, then pressure-tests…from github.com

100 Vibe Coding2025 · 100vibecoding.com · ▲351Hi HN, I have been making side projects since I was 14, and my team mate (this is his very first side project! Congrats!) designed and implemented the UI. Over time, people kept asking me how they could start coding and turn ideas into reality. So we had an idea. Coding is changing. With AI, the bottleneck is no longer writing every line by hand but knowing how to prompt effectively to reach a working outcome. Our objective is not to make people code better, or even learn to be a proficient software engineer, but just to keep it simple and start building. We want to remove fear and barriers…
ViberiaMay 2026 · getviberia.com · ▲146Hey HN, This is my take on the agent harness. Everything on an isometric map. Agents are grouped into "buildings" that run in a sequence or a loop; e.g., the CodeForge has an agent that writes a PRD, another one that implements, and a third that reviews. Everything is customizable, you build your own buildings/teams however you want. It's a Tauri app, really light (about 8x less energy than the closest competitor I benchmarked, so it actually runs from a coffee shop on battery). It's macOS only for now, but ping me if you are willing to test the Windows or Linux version. I've been…
I learned to code to launch my new startup2013 · uncover.com · ▲178Please check it out. I spent all of 2012 learning to code to launch what would eventually become Uncover. I'm super excited to announce that we're finally live. Here's a blog post I wrote on how we got there and a little story behind the startup: http://spencerfry.com/introducing-uncover
Bindly2016 · bind.ly · ▲76Hi HN, I’m a product designer by background, not a traditional software engineer. Over the last year, tools like Claude and ChatGPT completely changed how I work. I started with small internal tools, and now I’m “vibe coding” multiple highly personalized apps. As I iterated between Claude Code (implementation) and ChatGPT (ideation / thinking), I kept running into the same problem. To think clearly, I had to repeatedly re-explain: - what the code currently does, - what changed recently, - and why certain decisions were made. That re-summarization step became a real bottleneck. So I…

I've been using Cursor, Co-Pilot, ChatGPT, Claude and what not since quite some time now, and we are at a stage where we can just "vibe code" whole apps from idea to execution in a few prompts. I tried this personally to create some side projects that solved little problems for me. But I always got stuck at a point where it just goes into an infinite loop of issues and can't solve the issue by itself. Well I'm a developer, so it's easier for me to dive into the code and solve the problem myself, but that would take a hell lot of time to understand all the code AI wrote for me. If I keep…
i built an AI code reviewer for github (used it on itself during dev)2025 · codii.dev · ▲6I’ve spent the last 2.5 months building a product that runs LLM-powered code reviews on my pull requests — and I just launched it. The tool is built specifically for solo developers. You install it on your repo, trigger a scan by creating a pull request, and it leaves structured review comments using OpenAI under the hood. Funnily enough, I used the dev version of this app to review its own pull requests while building it. It helped me spot bugs, simplify structure, and keep quality high — all with minimal need for another human in the loop. Things I want to try out in the next months : -…

I might be the only SRE on Earth with his own bowling center. It's a more in-depth gig than you'd think. My family and I bought an abandoned 8-lane bowling center in the rural mid-west. In our small town there weren't many recreation options for families. You've heard of a food desert? This is an R&R desert. It had been abandoned for a good reason. The roof leaks, the electrical system was constantly surging, and my 70-year-old bowling equipment (still) doesn't work perfectly. The system that keeps your score is particularly interesting to me. It's the thing you watch during your game, but…

Over the past few months, our team has been building more and more slidedecks using web frontend technologies with coding harnesses like Claude Code, but a common complaint is to make even small edits we need to edit the code either manually or via the harness. To avoid this loop, I ended up creating Bento, a single HTML file with everything you need in a slide tool including animations and shared editing. There's no install or cloud login, everything works offline. The default deck is around 560 KB and it doesn't need to fetch anything once you got it. Open it in a browser and then you can…

A few days ago I found myself trying out GLM 5.2 and was really positively impressed. The capabilities and security I was getting from this LLM are similar to those I've gotten from models like Claude or GPT, and this really surprised me. But then I thought, "I wonder how it would work on a normal computer like mine," and above all, "I wonder if it would work without going into OOM on a computer like mine." So I started working with the help of agents to test this possibility. I started converting the model to int4, understanding MTP usage, and if possible implementing DSA for long context.…

OpenSEO▲928Hello! For the last 2 months, I've been building OpenSEO. It's a user friendly UI wrapping the DataForSEO API which has high quality SEO data for keywords, backlinks, AI SEO and competitor research. Instead of paying $100+ per month, you buy DataForSEO credits and pay only for usage. The coolest thing about the project so far has been hearing about what people are building on top of it. People are using coding agents to quickly integrate with Google Search Console, Google Ads and building their own AI SEO and reporting features. Many were already building their own custom solutions around…
