Visualization of website accessibility tree

When COVID-19 started I needed something to get busy to not go crazy. I happened to work on our app WCAG compliance for a few months at the time and was frustrated by the state of of accessibility-related tools for developers. I've spend two months delivering a tool that is easy to understand and helps catching accessibility issues on my apps. A few years later it's pretty popular despite being mostly abandoned. I will be happy to work on this further but honestly lost my enthusiasm some time ago. I'd love to get in touch with some company in the accessibility testing space and discuss how…

In plain words

This tool visualizes a website's accessibility tree to help developers identify WCAG compliance issues. It displays the underlying structure that assistive technologies use, making accessibility problems visible and easier to understand. Built by a developer working on app accessibility during the pandemic, the tool has gained popularity among developers despite receiving limited maintenance. It targets web developers and QA teams focused on creating accessible applications.

Hi HN, I’m a fullstack developer, and honestly, I’ve lost count of how many side projects I’ve worked on over the years. But one idea kept coming back to me: a different kind of email client. It first came to me in 2014: “What if we could handle emails more like conversations?” Every year, I’d revisit this concept in my “Build Notes.” Ten years later, no one had built exactly what I had in mind — so I finally decided to do it myself. That’s how Talanoa was born. I wanted something focused on people, not timelines. I was tired of marking messages as unread just to remember to reply later, or…
