Wandervine
Wine trip planning, built by someone in the wine world.
What it does
Most wine apps rate a bottle with a number and stop there. Wandervine starts with the trip instead: pick a region and it maps your day, wineries worth visiting, where to eat, the route, all built around your own taste. Scan any bottle for a verdict made for you, not a crowd score. It even pairs wine with music, or finds a wine to match a mood or song. Built by a working sommelier, bilingual in English and Spanish from day one.
Wandervine is a bilingual wine travel app. Discover bottles for your taste, plan trips to wine regions, and collect a passport of wine countries.
From the first scan to the last stamp in your passport, Wandervine guides every step of the journey. Here is how it works. Desde el primer escaneo hasta el último sello de tu pasaporte, Wandervine te acompaña en cada paso del camino. Así funciona. Wandervine is with you at the table too. Wandervine también está contigo en la mesa. Scan any label and get a verdict made for your taste. Not just what a wine is, whether it is right for you. Escanea cualquier etiqueta y recibe un veredicto hecho a tu gusto. No solo sabrás qué es el vino, sino si es el indicado para ti. Match a bottle to what is on the table. A dish, a cuisine, or a whole menu, paired with the wine that makes it better. Combina…from wandervine.app

Hi HN, I built Eigendrum, a web tool that solves the 2D wave equation for arbitrary shapes so you can hear what they sound like as drums. How it works: * Solves -∇²u = λu using finite element analysis (Kφ = λMφ) on a triangle mesh. * Validated to <0.1% error against closed-form solutions for circles (Bessel zeros) and rectangles. * Sound model factors in strike location, Rayleigh damping, and mallet width. * Includes Kac drums I & II to demonstrate identical sound spectra from different geometries. * No frameworks, build steps, or dependencies. Repo and tests:…

I made OwnTime to balance between competing priorities in my life. The idea is based on two main influences: the concept of "roles" from "The 5 Choices" (2015), and my repeated failure to effectively implement time blocking due to the necessary flexibility in my role. The app allows you to define time budgets, which are not much more than a few mutually exclusive countdown timers. The UX is essentially that of a chess clock for an arbitrary number of players with configurable time. The whole point of the app is to kick you out of the running role/priority when its time is up. One…
