Warp Open-Source
Agentic development environment built with the community
Warp Open-Source launched on May 11, 2026 with 226 votes, #107 of 20,538 launches that month and more than 99% of that year's launches.
What it does
The best, longest-lasting software is built with the people who use it, so we've opened up Warp to the community. To make this possible, Oz-managed agents do the heavy lifting (coding, planning, testing), letting community members focus on ideas, direction, and verification. 25K+ stars added and 500+ contributors in week one.

Warp, a Rust-based terminal2022 · warp.dev · ▲946Hi HN community, I’m Zach, founder and CEO of Warp, and am excited to show you Warp, a fast Rust-based terminal that’s easy to use and built for teams. As of today, Warp is in public beta and any Mac user can download it. It works with bash, zsh, and fish. The terminal’s teletype-like interface has made it hard for the CLI to thrive. After 20 years of programming, I still find it hard to copy a command’s output; I always forget how to use `tar`; and I always have to relearn how to move my cursor. To fix fundamental accessibility issues, I believe we need to start innovating on the terminal,…

Hey HN, Henry here from Cactus. We open-sourced Needle, a 26M parameter function-calling (tool use) model. It runs at 6000 tok/s prefill and 1200 tok/s decode on consumer devices. We were always frustrated by the little effort made towards building agentic models that run on budget phones, so we conducted investigations that led to an observation: agentic experiences are built upon tool calling, and massive models are overkill for it. Tool calling is fundamentally retrieval-and-assembly (match query to tool name, extract argument values, emit JSON), not reasoning. Cross-attention…
