Waterbug

Your sidekick to grow your plants

Waterbug launched on October 28, 2014 with 96 votes, #446 of 2,324 launches that month and more than 50% of that year's launches. The site was still online in September 2026, 11 years on.

What it does

If one of your plants is in need of a drink, it jumps to the top of the list and turns green. Once you've watered the plant, just tap the water drop icon and the countdown restarts. Waterbug keeps track of each plant you add and pops an alert whenever a plant needs water. Set the days between watering and Waterbug will take care of the rest. Waterbug has an online garden shop—powered by Amazon—so you can have that heavy bag of dirt lugged right to your door. Buy plants, pots, tools and soil supplies, all from your phone. Choose a plant type from the onboard plant guide and you'll automatically see light and watering guides for your little green buddy. No more guesswork required.…from waterbugapp.com
