We relaunched the Official MTA App for NYC public transit
You might remember MYmta, and maybe you loved it, but it was impossible to maintain. The Digital Services team at the MTA + Axon Vibe + many others contributed to relaunching the official MTA app with new features based on user feedback. Let us know what you think!
We relaunched the Official MTA App for NYC public transit launched on April 19, 2024 with 141 votes, #374 of 4,347 launches that month and more than 95% of that year's launches. The site was still online in September 2026, 2 years on.
In plain words
The Official MTA App helps New York City transit users plan trips and navigate the public transportation system. Developed by the MTA's Digital Services team in collaboration with Axon Vibe, this relaunch replaces the previous MYmta app with a rebuilt foundation designed for better maintenance and stability. The app incorporates features based on direct user feedback to improve the transit experience for commuters and visitors.

For example if I wanted to go somewhere I dident know, I would have to go on a third party app which is not included in the app. Honestly without that part, this app has everything you need and is a great choice.
