Web2MCP
Turn any website's APIs into WebMCP tools for your AI agent
Web2MCP launched on September 4, 2026.
What it does
Web2MCP is a Chrome extension that records the APIs a website calls as you browse and injects them as native WebMCP tools your in-browser AI agent can discover and call. No keys, no config, no schemas — the tools build themselves. Runs 100% locally.
Web2MCP is a Chrome extension that records the APIs a website calls as you browse and injects them as native WebMCP tools an in-browser AI agent can call.
Web2MCP watches the requests a site makes as you browse, learns their shape, and injects them into the page as native WebMCP tools an in-browser AI agent can call. Requires a browser with WebMCP — Chrome 149+ with --enable-features=WebMCP , or a Chromium build that ships it. Works without it too, in record-only mode. No config, no schema files, no per-endpoint wiring. Web2MCP learns a site's API surface from the traffic it already produces. A page-context script patches fetch and XMLHttpRequest , capturing every JSON API the site calls — its own backend and third-party APIs alike — while filtering out static assets and trackers. Requests are deduped into endpoint templates ( /users/123 →…from web2mcp.dev

- REReverse-engineering web apps into agent toolsJul 2026 · ▲96
Hey HN! We built a browser-based agent that runs inside an authenticated web app, watches how the app calls its own APIs, and automatically turns those into agent tools. You can think of it as an auto-generated MCP server that self-updates as the host app changes. The result is a skilled AI assistant that actually integrates deeply with any product (not just chat and RAG) with minimal effort. Check out these short demos below that show the agent in software you're probably familiar with: - Jira: https://demo.frigade.com/hn?skill=jira - Spotify:…

peerd – AI agent harness that runs entirely in your browserJun 2026 · github.com · ▲75Hey HN. http://peerd.ai is an AI agent harness that lives entirely in your browser as a web extension. You don’t have to install a separate “AI browser”. You don’t have to bolt on or run some external process or manage a clunky mcp integration. It’s just a fully contained web extension, written in no build vanilla JS with minimal non-browser dependencies, using your own provider keys, and Apache 2. This isn’t just a fun hack. While it has largely been a solo side project, I genuinely believe the browser and the web could be the most natural platform for AI agents to operate safely,…
