WebPing

Single page for multi-cloud latency test

WebPing launched on April 4, 2021 with 107 votes, #351 of 3,754 launches that month and more than 75% of that year's launches. The site was still online in September 2026, 5 years on.

What it does

webping.cloud is the easiest way to find the latency between you and all popular cloud data centers. All in a single page with simultaneous checks.

Test your network latency to the nearest cloud provider in Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform and other cloud providers directly from your browser

This website constantly sends a HTTP request to a server in each region/cloud provider. It"s fairly accurate, but due to browser restrictions, this website uses a HTTP ping instead of a TCP/ICMP ping. HTTP servers will always have an additional overhead which negatively impact the latency displayed here. Each provider uses a different HTTP web server and configuration that could a few extra milliseconds. When pinging multiple providers simultaneously, always keep in mind that some providers might have a slighly lower latency than what is currentlyfrom webping.cloud

I've frequently found myself using [nvitop](https://github.com/XuehaiPan/nvitop) to diagnose GPU/CPU contention issues. The two best things about it are: - It's easy to install if I can access pip in the container - It makes a compelling screenshot (which helps me communicate with coworkers.) With those two lessons in mind: Here is Sping! Purpose: Help observe and diagnose latency issues at layer 4+ (TCP/HTTP/HTTPS) Two good things about it: - It's easy to install if you have pip. Hi HN, I’m a fullstack developer, and honestly, I’ve lost count of how many side projects I’ve worked on over the years. But one idea kept coming back to me: a different kind of email client. It first came to me in 2014: “What if we could handle emails more like conversations?” Every year, I’d revisit this concept in my “Build Notes.” Ten years later, no one had built exactly what I had in mind — so I finally decided to do it myself. That’s how Talanoa was born. I wanted something focused on people, not timelines. I was tired of marking messages as unread just to remember to reply later, or…
