Webpod – deploy Next.js to your own server

Quickly provision servers and deploy sites with DigitalOcean, UpCloud, Vultr, Linode, Scaleway, Hetzner, AWS EC2, GCP, Azure, or custom VPS.

Webpod – deploy Next.js to your own server launched on July 4, 2023 with 18 votes, #1,497 of 4,347 launches that month and more than 75% of that year's launches. The site was still online in September 2026, 3 years on.

In plain words

Webpod is a deployment tool that enables developers to run Next.js applications on their own servers. It simplifies the process of taking a Next.js project from development to production on self-hosted infrastructure. The tool is designed for developers who prefer to maintain control over their hosting environment rather than relying on managed platform services. Webpod handles the technical configuration needed to deploy and manage Next.js applications independently.

Hi HN, we are Frank and Jay and we are working on a better way to deploy Next.js apps to AWS: https://serverless-stack.com/examples/how-to-create-a-nextjs-app-with-serverless.html We are the founders of SST, an open source framework that makes it easy to build serverless apps on AWS: https://github.com/serverless-stack/serverless-stack We found that many people in the community were looking for a better way to deploy Next.js apps to their own infrastructure and they were unhappy with the options. These were not easy to customize (Amplify Next.js) or…

Hi everyone - Looking for feedback for this new open source project we launched. It's called DevPod and it's built on the devcontainer.json standard to create reproducible dev environments. It lets you spin up dev environments in any infra, kind of like a Terraform but for dev environments. Compared to hosted services such as Github Codespaces, JetBrains Spaces, or Google Cloud Workstations, DevPod has the following advantages: - Open Source: DevPod is 100% open-source and extensible. A provider doesn’t exist? Just create your own. - Client-only: No need to install a server backend. DevPod…

Hi HN, I’m a fullstack developer, and honestly, I’ve lost count of how many side projects I’ve worked on over the years. But one idea kept coming back to me: a different kind of email client. It first came to me in 2014: “What if we could handle emails more like conversations?” Every year, I’d revisit this concept in my “Build Notes.” Ten years later, no one had built exactly what I had in mind — so I finally decided to do it myself. That’s how Talanoa was born. I wanted something focused on people, not timelines. I was tired of marking messages as unread just to remember to reply later, or…

I saw this [0] pretty cool thread by user revskill, and wanted a quicker way to search through it, but also to keep them all in one place so I can read them at my leisure whenever I get time. Right now is like 60 lines of Ruby using Nokogiri, but I will certainly look into it further down the line and improve the list. There's a cronjob checking the thread every 12 hours but I will eventually shut that down and it will become static after that. There are some really awesome blogs in there. I really recommend going through the list, it made my day. [0] "Could you share your personal blog…
