You Are an Agent
After adding "Human" as a LLM provider to OpenCode a few months ago as a joke, it turns-out that acting as a LLM is quite painful. But it was surprisingly useful for understanding real agent harnesses dev. So I thought I wouldn't leave anyone out! I made a small oss game - You Are An Agent - youareanagent.app - to share in the (useful?) frustration It's a bit ridiculous. To tell you about some entirely necessary features, we've got: - A full WASM arch-linux vm that runs in your browser for the agent coding level - A bad desktop simulation with a beautiful excel simulation for our computer…

To tell you about some entirely necessary features, we've got: - A full WASM arch-linux vm that runs in your browser for the agent coding level - A bad desktop simulation with a beautiful excel simulation for our computer use level - A lovely WebGL CRT simulation (I think the first one that supports proper DOM 2d barrel warp distortion on safari? honestly wanted to leverage/ not write my own but I couldn't find one I was happy with) - A MCP server simulator with full simulation of off-brand Jira/ Confluence/ ... connected - And of course, a full WebGL oscilloscope music simulator for the intro sequence Let me know what you think! Coding agent management is all the rage right now, and many tools are being created to fill the gap. As a power user for all tools I've used since I've started my software engineering career, I've always taken the time to test multiple tools thoroughly before deciding on one, and an agentic manager was no different. I've tested many tools, but ultimately landed on Agent of Empires (AoE for short). Why ? Because it's fast, the development is active and it's feature complete, and easy to contribute to. So I did (contribute). In my day to day workflow for my job, I need the ability to start…

Hi HN, I’m the creator of Cordum. I’ve been working in DevOps and infrastructure for years (currently in the fintech/security space), and as I started playing with AI agents, I noticed a scary pattern. Most "safety" mechanisms rely on system prompts ("Please don't do X") or flimsy Python logic inside the agent itself. If we treat agents as autonomous employees, giving them root access and hoping they listen to instructions felt insane to me. I wanted a way to enforce hard constraints that the LLM cannot override, no matter how "jailbroken" it gets. So I built Cordum. It’s an open-source…

Hey HN, I wanted to see what happens if you put a large group in control of a site that’s completely built and updated by an AI agent. See the site here: https://youarethepm.com. I first tried this with a small group of co-workers and it worked surprisingly well, so the obvious next step was: give it to a bigger group of strangers and see what we learn. This site is fully autonomous. An AI agent reads this thread, decides what to do, writes code, and ships updates on a virtual computer. I might step in if it gets totally stuck, but the goal is for the site to evolve primarily based…

Hey HN! For that last 8 months I've been trying to make agents that can hack web applications to find vulnerabilities in them - An AI Security Tester. The system has 29 agents in total, a custom LLM Orchestration framework which works on the task-subtask architecture (old-school but works amazingly for my use case, and is pretty reliable) with custom agent calling mechanism. No Auo-Gen, Langchain and Crew AI - Everything custom built for pentesting. Each test runs in an isolated Kali linux environment (on AWS Fargate), where the agents have full access to the environment to undertake any…

Hey HN! I got tired of AI agents being a pain to set up, impossible to customize without a PhD, and only viable if you're some Fortune 500 company. So I built something different, a chatbot you can literally drop onto your website with a single script tag. Create an account, add your domain, customize literally everything (theme, icon, welcome message, suggested responses, whatever), and you're done. The bot scrapes your site once a day to understand your business, or you can just upload docs-pricing sheets, policies, FAQs, you name it. That's your chatbot's brain right there. It only works…
- IBI built new type of dev environment for agentic coding2025 · github.com · ▲6
The main goal of this was to be able to not just run multiple Claude Code sessions at once, but actually manage them and keep track of what I was doing. Sometimes this is multiple attempts on the same task, sometimes I work several tasks at once. Really I was just sick of twiddling my thumbs waiting for the coding agent to finish, and I wanted it to be easy to work on/review/test another change while I waited.

I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.

Hey HN, Henry from Cactus here! We previously released Cactus Needle, a 14MB agentic LLM for tool call, device use, and structured extraction for phones, wearables, smart homes, small robots and microcontrollers. We got really great feedback here, and have now incorporated the suggestions to release Needle 2. The whole model is a single 14MB binary that runs a full session in 28MB of RAM; 45m parameters at 2bit compression. Needle hits 500 tokens/sec decode speed on a Raspberry Pi 5, sits between 400-1,500 tokens/sec on VR devices like Meta Quest 3S and Apple Vision Pro, and ranges…
