What it does
Most of us spend hours scrolling but rarely learn anything from it. ZunoScroll is an AI-based learning app that turns scrolling into microlearning. Create streams for anything you want to learn, and the app builds a personalized learning graph and generates bite-size posts you can scroll through. Each stream also has an explore feed with blogs, news, and real-world insights around your topic.

I wanted to kick my doomscrolling habit, so I built a microlearning app that uses a TikTok-style algorithm, same addictive feed mechanics, but you actually learn something. I started with a general version, Scroll: Daily Microlearning (microlearning.usescroll.app), but quickly realised it works better when focused on a single topic. I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.
