Hey HN, after the app I actually used to track my period wanted me to log in and save my data in the cloud, I decided to write my own. Most apps in this area are based on a subscription model and display far too much information anyway. For me, a simple calendar is enough where I can add a few notes if necessary. So that is the result of my work - a simple design and the data is only saved on the smartphone.

Hello. I was looking for a simple and clean habit tracker. I went through a few apps but felt they were missing something. I also had some time on my hands, so decided to make my own and share it in case anyone else likes it. Some of the supported features: Streaks based, track and beat your longest streaks Fully useable offline Freezes (similar to Duolingo's streak freezes) Visual map for tracking consistency Pause the app when you need a break or will be away For anyone curious about the tech stack: - React for frontend - Dexie cloud for storage and syncing - Vercel for hosting Link:…

Simpluna▲68I've been running Simpluna, a period-tracking app, for six years. It's a company based in Tokyo, Japan, but development and operations are basically a one-person effort. The app is built with React Native (Expo). The defining trait of the app is that it's simple, with no unnecessary features. Recording periods, calculating predictions, and sending notifications — that's the core of it. This space is dominated by big players (Flo, Clue, and in Japan, Luna Luna). Building something similar would have been hopeless, so I made the things those apps don't have my selling point. Optional features…

Hey HN! I recently open-sourced a project that I came up with in the late 2022 and have been working on and off since. It's taken around a year or so of active development in total. My problem with habit-trackers is that they're all the same. All of them basically allow to track only one thing - X times per 1 day. That's very rigid and goes against my instinct to ease into new things. I wanted something that's flexible, self-sustainable, and wouldn't require a lot of maintenance. After a bit of tinkering I came up with something novel - adjustable habit frequencies. And made all the custom…

I kept trying to explain how important outdoor light is and how most people aren’t getting enough. Eventually I figured that showing is more effective than telling. So we built a free app that uses your Apple Watch or iPhone to automatically track your light exposure throughout the day. It tells you if you’re getting enough, shows you how consistent you are, and rewards habits that support hormone balance. It's in beta on TestFlight, let me know what you think!

Inspired by Minimal[1] and Netnik[2] printable calendars, I wanted a way to fit as many habits on a single sheet of paper as possible. This is very much a work-in-progress, so beware of bugs. I will flush it out over the next few days. Happy New Year, everyone! [1] https://useminimal.com/habit-tracker [2] https://neatnik.net/calendar/

I have used a lot of habit-tracking apps and most of them are filled with features that are not useful to me, sometimes UI is a mess etc. I wanted to build an app that was simple and useful. I wasn't sure about GPT ability but wanted to give it a try. There was a lot of trial and error, especially in figuring out the logic of the streak counter, which took a lot of time. I have spent some time polishing the UI as well. Although not a perfect app, I think I have a good tracker. I am planning to add more features and would love to know your thoughts and feedback. Thanks

Hi HN, I’ve been working on Telemetry Tracker over the past several months. It started as a side project because I wanted a simple telemetry platform that I could both self-host and use as a hosted service. Today it includes error tracking, custom events, session monitoring, organizations, projects, API keys, and SDKs for React, Next.js, Vue, Nuxt, React Native, Node.js and NestJS. The whole project is open source (MIT) and written in TypeScript. There’s still a lot I’d like to build—performance monitoring, alerting, source maps, session replay—but I felt it was time to share it instead of…
