Long-simmering side project that is finally ready to see the light. HAMTs are a cool persistent data structure and implementing one has been a lot of fun. Beyond the code, there is likely some value in the extensive and largely complete implementation docs; basic benchmarks are linked in the README, too. Kind of aiming to be "the libavl for HAMTs". That is obviously a high and aspirational bar but a distinct possibility if it stirs up a little interest and/or contribution. Anyways, it's time for this to go out, collect feedback and maybe even some use outside of toy projects. Let me…

This program provides a simple way of visualizing the different regions of a binary file. Written in C, depends only on libpng. Currently (commit 1dd42e3) it is able to generate PNG images that represent various aspects of the binary: - Grayscale: Byte values, 00..FF. - Ascii: Printability of each byte. - Entropy: Of a "block", changed with --block-size. - Histogram: Bar graph of the byte frequencies. - Bigrams: Each point is determined by a pair of bytes. - Dotplot: Measure self-similarity. Image width/height is N^2. In the future, I plan on adding an SDL version that allows the user…

My partner reviews a lot of P&IDs (piping and instrumentation diagrams) and the adjacent files involved (excel, docx, pdfs, acd/l5x, etc). In his company, these are usually done in Bluebeam. It's really hard to see the diff + keep track of all the revisions resulted by these iterations. They end up storing files like "rev3_final_redlined.pdf". We've been looking for something close to Github to do these reviews, but haven't found one easy enough for folks with no CLI experience to understand and use (happy to check out more tools if you know any). So I built withkord.com to help with…

We have been working on tools for safe debloating of software for a few years now at the university. BLAFS is one of our first tools to release for file debloating, a bloat-aware filesystem for container debloating. It detects the files used by the container, and the debloats the container removing the unused files. The debloated containers are fully functional and can run the same workload as the original containers, but with a much smaller size and faster deployment. This project is a little performance-optimization experiment focused on reducing the size of Go binary patches, which can be useful for quick incremental updates of live services. When a Go program grows by a few bytes through an incremental change, a bunch of related references and offsets throughout the compiled binary end up changing that makes general-purpose binary-diff encoders inefficient: `zstd --patch-from` produces a 530kb patch for a one-line change in a 30MB binary. bsdiff improves upon this (150KB patch) thanks to a delta compression algorithm that can handle relative offsets.…
