Hey HN, I wanted a way to quickly see only the YouTube videos being shared on Hacker News without wading through other links. So, I built this little tool. I used to use https://news.ycombinator.com/from?site=youtube.com to check YouTube links, but it lacked thumbnails, so I built one just to do it. It uses the hn.algolia.com API and is built with Nuxt3. I originally made this for myself but thought others might find it useful too. I love HN but always felt the search with algolia is okay but does have some limitations. Since I work at Vectara I decided to try and create a better search for HN. It's based on data from roughly the last 6 months of HN stories and comments. Would love to hear feedback and how useful this is relative to the existing search.

Hi HN, This is a little "HN Reader" experiment I made using a domain hack of "news.ycombinato.com" <- notice the "r" is missing. Basically, I thought it would be cool to make a "clone" of the "Hacker News" URL so you can quickly navigate to "YCombinato" from any post on "news.ycombinator" by just dropping the r in the domain. I wrote this small client to read hackernews from my favorite editor. It's currently using an external HTTP API [0] but I'm working on my own proxy [1]. I'd love to actually scrape and cache all the info I need using lisp. However, my time constraints are keeping me away of that goal.
