Many JS libraries exist to build graphs on the web (Vega, chartJS, Plotly...). They allow to make charts quickly. But you lose flexibility: you're limited by the options they offer. I just created a gallery with hundreds of graphs made with d3.js and React. - Examples are split by graph types - They all come with explanation and code sandboxes - Gradual complexity to ease the learning curve It took me ages to create this project! Feedback welcome!

I was frustrated with how bad a signal of progress through a big PR "Files viewed" was, so I made a "Lines viewed" indicator to complement it. Designed to look like a stock Github UI element - even respects light/dark theme. Runs fully locally, no API calls. Splits insertions and deletions by default, but you can also merge them into a single "lines" figure in the settings.

Over the past few weeks I've been working on a small application to view trending repos on GitHub. I built the PWA[1] with React, Next.js and GraphQL .. but what's interesting is the application is only using React server side, meaning the client side javascript is only a few lines code adding some event listeners and registering a service worker for offline capability. This helped me achieve a perfect google chrome performance audit I learned a ton working on it and would love to talk about it if anyone has any questions! TLDR: I made a public only web analytics without signup. Stores views and visitors for 10 days before deleting data. Exactly 25 days ago today I posted here, proud of my new web analytics. The response was mixed and my post even got flagged (understandable). It was my first real launch and I actually made a sale just a day later of 49$(!). Back then my project was pay once, keep forever. Since then I have sadly went over to the dark side (subscription based). Anyways, I never went back to look at the post after the first two hours, turns out I got a lot of answers. Most answers was something…

I've always dreamed about a project like that when looking at status boards at other companies. We finally had the time to do our own. Here are some photos: http://www.flickr.com/photos/robert_olejnik/sets/72157633736087905/ The stack: Django, mustache.js, Chart.js, Bootstrap and custom Supybot plugin. Maybe will be inspiration for someone else ;-) Do you guys have similar status boards? Cheers, Robert.

Crabby monitors your websites and APIs and reports metrics to a variety of storage backends (Prometheus, Datadog, Splunk, InfluxDB, etc). It gives you insight into timings like TTFB, DNS resolution, TLS negotiation, server processing, and content delivery. It also supports chromedp for automated gathering of browser metrics like page render timings. It's very easy to configure and includes a Helm chart for deployment into K8S.

Most analytics tools give you 10–15 chart types and call it a day. But what happens when none of them actually represent your data well? We ran into this when building a CRM dashboard. We wanted to show how sales reps connect to open deals: not just totals, but actual relationships. A bar chart was too flat, a table too dense. We needed a network graph. The problem? Most chart libraries and BI tools don’t support that out of the box. You either say “no” to the feature request, or you hack together a standalone visualization that breaks the product’s flow (no filters, no interactivity, no…

We've been trying to evaluate web scraping companies, but when you look at their benchmarks, you can't verify anything, and they mostly exist to prove the company is successful. They put somewhere between 98% and 100% because they pick their own urls, define success their own way, and don't publish the harness. We also saw companies like scrapfly astroturf websites like scrapeway and call them independent. So, we built an open source benchmark that we want to represent the frontier of web data. We're trying to look across all major anti-bot providers and industries, to build a comprehensive…

website: dashboard.io I've been thinking about this idea for a while now and finally got around to building the prototype this weekend. The idea is that you'd drop my JS snippet on your site and I'd start building the "AARRR" table (which I'm actually building this week but imagine slide 4: http://www.slideshare.net/dmc500hats/startup-metrics-for-pirates-long-version). Basically, the system will build that table out for you and then show you how your startup stacks up against others in your space. To be clear, I'll never share your data with anyone. So, if you're a "hosting" company, I'd…
