deff is an interactive Rust TUI for reviewing git diffs side-by-side with syntax highlighting and added/deleted line tinting. It supports keyboard/mouse navigation, vim-style motions, in-diff search (/, n, N), per-file reviewed toggles, and both upstream-based and explicit --base/--head comparisons. It can also include uncommitted + untracked files (--include-uncommitted) so you can review your working tree before committing. Would love to get some feedback

There are multiple programs for working with log files, both inside and outside of the terminal. These tools are feature rich and functional and offer lots of control to the user. However, a lot of the time I found myself just opening raw log files in `less`. I enjoy the simplicity of quickly skimming through the logs, but it was difficult when the wall of text was in one color. For this reason, I created a command line tool called `tailspin` (the name is a take on the `tail` command) that did one thing: highlighting of log files. It is configurable, but requires no setup. It defaults to…

I don't know Rust. Friday after work I realised that 90% of my IDE time now is just the commit/diff view — and even good IDEs feel heavy for that. So over the weekend I built a dedicated native tool for just that. Kyde is a macOS git commit + diff editor with one goal: be fast, do Git well. I'm curious whether anyone else mostly opens their IDE for git operations these days. It's open source, and there's a signed app in Releases.

Keeping up with changes on upstream GitHub would normally be a pain, but with with Playwright and Claude Code it seemed possible for…

Hi, first time poster here! Wanted to share a small CLI utility in Rust: doxxer! It is a tool for working with Git repositories, more specifically, extracting and calculating current/upcoming semantic versions for your repo's tags. It is heavily inspired by the output from "git describe --tags". Why use anything else then? The output is not fully SemVer compliant and therefore I was modifying it in all my projects separately, which I wanted to avoid. Single binary, single predictable output. It does not currently have pre-built binaries, so you have to install it via cargo, but it's in…
