Hi HN — author here. iesna.eu is a browser-based ecosystem for working with photometric data: parsing standard luminaire files (LDT/EULUMDAT, IES LM-63, Oxytech, ATLA-S001), running design calculations against EN 13201 / ANSI/IES RP-8 / CJJ 45 / IES-IDA MLO, and (the part I most want to show off here) rendering real urban scenes in Bevy with the photometric data driving actual streetlight behavior, including sky-glow contribution. The Skyglow Analysis demo loads a real LDT file into a Bevy scene (Khronos Bistro test asset). The luminaire's intensity distribution…

Dear HN community! Looking forward to hearing your feedback on ACE (assured confidential execution), technology that implements VM-based trusted execution environment (TEE) for embedded RISC-V systems with focus on a formally verified and auditable firmware. We target high-assurance systems that can benefit from compartmentalization and hardware-backed isolation. The key ingredient called security monitor (firmware) is implemented in Rust. The formal specification is defined as annotations directly in code and gets translated to Coq using RefinedRust automation. ACE design is now part of the…

This is a small PoC Python project for web server access logs analyzing to classify and dynamically block bad bots, such as L7 (application-level) DDoS bots, web scrappers and so on. We'll be happy to gather initial feedback on usability and features, especialy from people having good or bad experience wit bots. *Requirements* The analyzer relies on 3 Tempesta FW specific features which you still can get with other HTTP servers or accelerators: 1. JA5 client fingerprinting (https://tempesta-tech.com/knowledge-base/Traffic-Filtering-b...). This is a HTTP and TLS layers…

Hi HN, We are the core developers behind FACEIO (https://faceio.net), a product developed from scratch here at PixLab (https://pixlab.io) in the past few years. FACEIO is a cross-browser, Cloud & On-Premise deployable, facial authentication framework, with a client-side JavaScript library (fio.js) that integrates seamlessly with any website or web application desiring to offer secure facial recognition experience to their users. Put it simply, FACEIO is the easiest way to add passwordless authentication to web based applications. Simply implement fio.js on your website,…

Hi HN, I'm Andrios, founder of hoop.dev (YC W21), we build runtime controls for agents. We just released Alcatraz. We built it because our product is written in Go and we do real time Data Masking, but we were using MS Presidio (Python) for PII detection and it made connections slow. There was a good discussion here a few months ago when OpenAI released their Privacy Filter: (https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=47870901). A lot of questions were built into our design. Structured identifiers (credit cards, SSNs, etc) are deterministic and you can verify them with checksum.…

As I started to use Claude Code to do more random tasks I realized I could basically build any CLI tool and it would use it. So I built one that controls the browser and open-sourced it. It should work with Codex or any other CLI-based agent! I have a long term idea where the models are all local and then the tool is privacy preserving because it's easy to remove PII from text, but I'd definitely not recommend using this for anything important just yet. You'll need a Gemini key until I (or someone else) figure out how to distill a local version out of that part of the pipeline. Github link:…
