24 alternatives to AgentKite

Hi HN! I am Dan (aadivar), one of two people who have built Kite, a tool with a simple goal: get rid of brain rot and internet addiction. Modern websites are built to keep you engaged using algorithmic feeds, infinite scroll, social proof counters, autoplay recommendations, urgency timers, etc. Even when you intend to check one thing, you get pulled into a 45-minute session you didn't choose. I personally noticed this with my daughter, who was getting pulled into YouTube Shorts rabbit hole addiction, while she was supposed to be using the platform for science and music lessons. Trying to…

Hey Hackers! I've had this idea stuck in my head for a while: what if an AI could actually use my browser for me? I mean, not on some virtual machine in the cloud like ChatGPT agent, but right on my own browser. I finally decided to just build it and see what would happen. I wrote a quick MVP, and honestly, I didn't expect much. But then... it started doing things. On its own. It figured out how to use search engine to find what I needed, read a webpage to answer my questions, and even it can organize my chaotic mess of tabs into neat groups. It was a genuine "whoa" moment for me. That's…

Hey guys well basically…yeah…I hate GoogleNoteLLM and other AI YouTube Summarizers. They feel meh…boring. I actually like youlearn.ai but it’s built for students. So, as a builder. I built my own AI YouTube Curator, Zeno, and hit #1 Product of the Week on Product Hunt. What I can say is that Zeno is your AI-powered second brain for YouTube. Ah, btw now it’s fully optimized for mobile, with the most evolutionary features in the AI YouTube summary space yet. The best part? Since this last update, I’ve stopped using YouTube. I only Zeno. With Zeno 2.0 on mobile, you can: Import your favorite…

I think we all have a similar flow and pain with browsers and AI. Copy article, paste in Claude tab, come back to article, back to Claude, in circles we go. Anthropic has a Chrome extension, but my daily driver is Safari. So I made my own extension. It's not a clone as I've never used the Chrome version. One obvious change: the Chrome version I believe uses Chrome "request sidebar" thing. And Safari doesn't have that, so had to inject the sidebar right in the site html itself. There's been some fun things in here like figuring out the sidebar html/css sandboxing. Also there's an agent…

I'm a solo dev. A few years ago, I got addicted to Reddit. Spent months in that loop. Being a programmer, I thought I'd be clever. Redirected Reddit's domain to nowhere in my DNS file. Worked great until I'd just... open the file and undo it 20 minutes later. So I made it irreversible. Locked the DNS file so it can't be edited unless I boot my Mac in safe mode. And if I do that, there's a script that instantly locks it again. Haven't used Reddit since last year. Problem solved, right? Wrong. I just replaced Reddit with Twitch and YouTube. Started keeping streams running in the background…

I spent 8 weeks building Zine, an AI-powered search app for your team's knowledge, entirely solo. No team, no extra funding. Just me, AI coding tools, and the platform I had already built. Instead of building infrastructure (connectors, vector DBs, transcription, entity extraction, etc.), I reused Graphlit, the same stack our customers use. That saved about 4-5 months of backend work and let me focus 100 percent on product and UX. The result: I built and shipped an MVP in 8 weeks, got the first paying customer in 4 months, used 30+ data connectors with real-time sync and entity-aware…

I was somewhat hesitant about sharing this personal projects, especially since I just saw that cool looking Werk[1] tool posted, but I figured that my ADHD-fueled creation might still have it's own place to be. I just finished rewriting the code for a personal tool I use to automate terminal tasks while minimizing the amount of Python/Bash code I have to write. As with all other tools I create for my own use, the guiding principle is simplicity and approachability, as if the tool creates more issues or friction than it solves, I'll get discouraged from using it again. Right now it's a Nicotine patch for brain rot/doom scrolling. You still get the scroll, but with more meaningful content. WHERE I WANT IT TO GO: Users mark what they are interested in (e.g. AI, or Space or Whatever), and it should crawl the latest scientific articles, high quality YouTube videos, pods, present it in a format that fits you, in a nice feed. NOW: You can search for anything (e.g. "Sea Explorers" --> The app crawls Wikipedia or YouTube and pulls together a short feed (e.g. Columbus, Vasco da Gama etc.,). I'm using RAG so that I always can reference the original data source…
