24 alternatives to Alertmouse
Built this tool as a personal passion/side project last year along with a couple Seattle friends. It's now got 3K+ folks tracking their name/brand/interests for free and ~150 paying subs, too. Not quite breakeven yet, but close (though none of us are getting paid ¯\_(ツ)_/¯). Suspect it might be useful/interesting to some of y'all.

Overlead▲146Here's the problem: I launched two products. I wrote blog posts. I posted on X, built in public. I tried running ads. And you know what actually got me customers? Replying to someone on Reddit who asked, "What's the best tool for this?" One reply. Three signups. I felt like an idiot for not doing it sooner. But here's the issue: I don't have time to refresh Reddit all day looking for these posts. I have products to build. Bugs to fix. Emails to answer. Life to live. So I built Overlead to do the searching for me. Overlead scans Reddit, Quora, and Hacker News (and many more to come) for…

TLDR: I made a public only web analytics without signup. Stores views and visitors for 10 days before deleting data. Exactly 25 days ago today I posted here, proud of my new web analytics. The response was mixed and my post even got flagged (understandable). It was my first real launch and I actually made a sale just a day later of 49$(!). Back then my project was pay once, keep forever. Since then I have sadly went over to the dark side (subscription based). Anyways, I never went back to look at the post after the first two hours, turns out I got a lot of answers. Most answers was something…

Capturing emails always sucked. I don't want to add a full-blown newsletter API. That's why I've created my own tool. Would love your feedback on this

Hey HN, I was tired of writing HTML emails and one day was going through reddit specifically searching for people who hated writing HTML emails and heard a lot of complaints from solopreneurs and marketers as this is a very boring task and many marketers and solo founders have much more important tasks to take care off. So I decided to build HTML email to solve this. My friends have already saved hours using this product. This is my 11th product and I think this solves a problem many folks are struggling with. Feel free to share your views.

Hey everyone, I wanted to see if I could build something like DataFa.st myself, so I made MochiAnalytics. I'm pretty happy with how it's turning out. It’s got all the bells and whistles a small team or solo founder would need to track campaigns and to see which channel is driving revenue. It’s a cheaper analytics tool for side projects, indie hackers, and small apps. I honestly wish I could make it free, but it still needs servers, a database, and a backend to keep event ingestion running 24/7, so there are real costs behind it. I’m still working on it and will keep adding more features…

Hi! Long time reader, first time submitter. I've finallllyy got my first webapp online. It's been a long time coming, I started it over a year ago and just been an hour here, a couple of hours here, and a period of a couple of months of nothing. I first wrote it as a way to learn some python it sort of grew to fill a need I had. It's at a point now where I'd LOVE some feedback as I am going round in circules. Please, it's free, just hit the home page, plugin in a name/email and url you want to links checked on. If you use the name 'DeleteMe' I will remove the account after a week, so feel…

2 months ago I launched a service that sends email alerts when you get a new comment/reply on Hacker News. I've only been able to acquire 6 users since releasing it (°ー°〃) I tried promoting it here (duuh), Reddit, and LinkedIn. Optimized it for SEO (ranking 3rd on my target keywords). All with limited success. So I've decided to open-source it! Links to... - frontend: https://github.com/mihailthebuilder/hackernewsalerts-fronten... - backend: https://github.com/mihailthebuilder/hackernewsalerts-backend I'm still using it for myself, since there's…

QuickPing▲11I got tired of creating a new email account, or setting up (and paying for) a Google Workspace every time I launched a side project. All I wanted was a link I could put on my site that lets someone send me a message and have a conversation. QuickPing gives you a shareable URL (like quickping.dev/to/yourproject). Someone visits it, types their name, email, and a message. You get notified and reply from a dashboard. They get an email with a link back to the thread. No chat widget, no embed code. Just a link you add to your site. Built with Next.js, Neon, and Mailgun. I'm using it for…

Hey HN! Just want to share a project of mine called Giggle. It uses Google's Programmable Search Engine service to apply allow- and block-lists to your searches in an easy way. I've shared it before[0] but just went through and refreshed/refactored a ton of things. Two things to note from the changes are it no longer uses Puppeteer for Google login and the license is now MIT. Happy to answer any questions! [0] https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=31067354

I was lucky enough to have my site trending on Friday (https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=25872922). It’s an icon site that lists open source icons. I wanted to share some stats on the results after 3 days. Worth noting was that I submitted it on a Friday morning (at which point I went for a walk and a coffee; eek). - 24,997 page views. I (embarrassingly) didn’t have GA set up when I first submitted it, so this is probably missing a few hundred page views - 21 “feedback” emails (half of which were spam). I assume such a high percentage of these were spam because my Feedback…

Hey there, I'm a solo dev behind KewlTools. So I'm one of those people who like to build their own tools/utilities whenever they a) want to get something done, or b) want to learn something. c) don't want to spend ages finding a utilty and going through walls of ads. I gradually built 66 tools, all free, fast, ad-free, and zero login. I (and my family/friends) use these daily, so thought some of you will find it useful! Any suggestions, improving current tools or adding new ones, please let me know.

Hey folks at HN, I didn’t want to pay $10–$30/month for AI email tools, so my friend and I built a free Chrome extension that works directly inside Gmail. It has the core features you'd expect: - When you open a reply, it drafts a response based on the thread — just hit Tab and send. - As you type, it suggests completions based on context (like autocomplete, but smarter). - Press Shift+Tab to force a suggestion anytime. - You can also give it context with // comments — e.g. // suggest a time on Thursday afternoon — and press Tab to drop in the response. Then hit…

Hello HN! I'm excited to share my product that helps companies to track their competitors, their website updates, new features, social media activity etc. I already have the first set of early adopters (thanks to a pretty good ProductHunt launch) who're using it on the daily basis so I'm excited to remove the waiting list and share it with everyone. Cheers!

Hey HN! I develop browser extensions, I suck at web design, and I've been exploring AI/LLMs. With my new found free-time since dropping work hours, I've developed a Design Copilot browser extension [0]. It does what it says on the tin - you choose a part of your website and the tool gives you instant expert design feedback - "change this font to that, add this much whitespace, use brighter colours .... etc" The tool is completely 100% free to use, its powered by bringing your own AI API Key, and the current LLM it uses is Google Gemini 1.5 Pro. I've yet to hit the free rate-limit and I…

Hey makers! Recently I have had problems with Google Analytics because it is GDPR compliant and uses cookies. The alternatives I have found seem expensive, complicated and some don't offer everything I want, that's why I created MetricsWave.com. MetricsWave allows you to analyze your business traffic, but also to launch events, analyze user behavior and, why not, share some of these events directly on Telegram, so that the team knows, for example, when we have achieved a new sale. Beyond all that, it also allows you to log deploys and almost anything you can imagine. Plus: - Does not use…
