Products that do what An addendum to the Agile Manifesto for the AI era does
I'm a VP of Engineering with 20 years in the field. I've been thinking deeply on why AI is breaking every engineering practice, and it led me to the conclusion that the Agile Manifesto's values need updating. The core argument: AI made producing software cheap, but understanding it is still expensive. The Manifesto optimizes for the former. This addendum shifts the emphasis toward the latter. Four updated values, three refined principles, with reasoning for each. Happy to discuss and defend any of it.

With massive respect to Jeff Sutherland and all the thought leaders who met at a ski lodge in Snowbird, Utah, in 2001 and created the Agile Manifesto - it might be time to revisit / refresh / revitalize the Agile Manifesto in light of the emergence of LLMs. The scarce resource is no longer programming capacity, but organizational clarity and architectural coherence. Hey HN! Thank you for all the support and feedback on my original submission 2 months ago. I've been improving the backend using a MCTS/AlphaZero approach and it's currently producing much better results. My long term goal is to allow users to manage multiple projects, deployed autonomously, both from scratch and by making continual updates all prompted with natural language. The cost of each project has been lowered to $9 as performance with smaller models has improved (I migrated from Claude-3-Opus to gemini-1.5-flash). Thanks for checking it out!

We've recently made our product, ozma.io, open-source. It's a CRM/ERP platform for building enterprise systems. We believe that AI will soon handle implementing most of the boilerplate and UIs in the specialized business software. Just look at what lovable.dev does today! The main goal of this was to be able to not just run multiple Claude Code sessions at once, but actually manage them and keep track of what I was doing. Sometimes this is multiple attempts on the same task, sometimes I work several tasks at once. Really I was just sick of twiddling my thumbs waiting for the coding agent to finish, and I wanted it to be easy to work on/review/test another change while I waited.

Hey HN! I'm an indie hacker who builds SAAS products in my free time. I've got a friend who runs a small consulting firm and said this would be a useful tool for them so i thought why not release it as a standalone online tool for everyone. Basically the premise is, you enter some information about your services (or we just scrape your website and figure it out). Then you enter a description of the client brief, tweak the outline, and out comes a unique tailored proposal that you can tweak with AI. That's pretty much it! Would love to hear your thoughts.
