Products that do what An index of all monthly dividend stocks does

In my quest for finding high yield dividend stocks, I've noticed there isn't really a good tool for finding such stocks (that I can find, anyway), only pay-walled sites that are confusing and inaccessible. This little project seeks to remedy that. I'm sharing this in the hopes that you'll find it useful, but also to get feedback, in particular, about monetizing. While I built this to be useful, I would like to make some money on it, so if you have any recommendations, I'm all eyeballs. I fear I may have to resort to advertisements to keep the barrier to entry low.

Here's a little side project I’ve been working on: https://totalrealreturns.com/ The Total Real Returns chart demonstrates the preservation or growth of real wealth more clearly than conventional (nominal-dollar, price-only) stock charts, because: (1) we include the effects of inflation-diminished purchasing power, and (2) we include the effects of reinvesting dividends from the initial investment. I found it harder to explain the y-axis in words than it was to do the math, so please let me know if you think the "baguettes" explanation on the homepage helps. I was up until 4am…

(* within a few minutes of SEC filing) Currently does it for 1000+ US companies and specifically earnings related filings. By US companies, I mean the ones that are obliged to file SEC filings. This was the result of almost a year long effort and hundreds of prototypes :) It currently auto-publishes for 1000 ish US companies by market cap, relies on 8-K filing as a trigger. e.g. https://www.signalbloom.ai/news/NVDA will take you to NVDA earnings Would be grateful to get some feedback. Especially if you follow a company, check its reports out. Thank you! Some examples:…

Hey everyone, we’re JJ and Mark from Double (https://double.finance). Over the past few months we’ve been working on an investing app that lets anyone design and invest in their own stock index. Start by picking one or more strategies. You can find 20+ starting points in Double that vary from direct index versions of classic ETFs (like SPY) to strategies focused on specific industries, market trends, or themes (like YC public companies). You can also easily build your own grouping of stocks, and tilt your strategy towards or away from certain stocks or sectors. Once you’ve chosen…

Quick background: I used to code. Studied it in school, wrote some projects, but eventually convinced myself I wasn't cut out for it. Too slow, too many bugs, imposter syndrome — the usual story. So I pivoted, ended up as an investment associate at an early-stage angel fund, and haven't written real code in years. Fast forward to now. I'm a Buffett nerd — big believer in compound interest as a mental model for life. I run compound interest calculations constantly. Not because I need to, but because watching numbers grow over 30-40 years keeps me patient when markets get wild. It's basically…

Hi HN, A while ago I had a mildly depressing realization. Back in 2010, I had around $60k. Like a "responsible" person, I used it as a down payment on an apartment. Recently, out of curiosity, I calculated what would have happened if I had instead put that money into NVIDIA stock. I should probably add some context. For over 10 years I've worked as a developer on trading platforms and financial infrastructure. I made a rule for myself - never trade on the market. In 2015, when Bitcoin traded about 300 usd, my brother and I were talking about whether it was a bubble. He made a bold claim that…

Hi HN users, My project is weeklycharts.org. This project generates and shows a weekly list of strong stocks and ETFs. My definition of a "strong" stock is a stock that is rising, upward trending and advancing stock. This project is based on an idea which I have after reading the book, "How I Made $2,000,000 in the Stock Market" by Nicolas Darvas. I have used UNIX shell scripts and GNU Awk to calculate the statistic; and HTML, CSS and SVG for presentation; and GNU Make for building this project. The stock prices and industry profile of the companies are sourced from finance.yahoo.com. I…

https://www.forestpin.com/cse/ This is still experimental and is a different way of analyzing stocks in the long term. We consider Dividends, Rights Issues, Bonus Issues, and Splits to calculate the value of the share. This gives a more realistic view than simply looking at the share price variations. We reinvest cash from dividends in the same stock and sell existing shares to execute rights. It's a simple calculation but it gives a much better perspective of the stocks in the long term than simply looking at the share price. You can select a stock symbol or click on…

I built this tool to help understand and quickly find coins on the Binance platform specifically for use with day trading. https://creative-look.com/clients/ransomcarroll.com/binance/... The problem is there's 100+ coins and i'm not going to constantly scan through each one. So the app has categories like 'big movers with volume' and other filters to help you see what's going on RIGHT NOW. You would obviously use this information to identify potential buy in opportunities. Looking for thoughts and recommendations.

I've always found raw SEC filings painful to parse, so I built a site to make institutional holding data more accessible and visual. I recently updated the data to analyze the peter thiel stock portfolio (tracking Founders Fund and associated vehicles) for Q3 2025. It's interesting to see the divergence from standard tech indices—heavy on defense/hard tech and very little consumer SaaS. You can see the visualization here: https://www.13radar.com/guru/peter-thiel Would love any feedback on the UI or suggestions on other metrics I should calculate from the 13F data.
