I've been avoiding instagram for a few years, as it feels very noisy and addictive. I'm starting to feel out of touch from friends though, so got wondering if I could build a tool to get just my friends updates, without all the other junk. So I just did my semi-annual "log in to Twitter to see if it's any good yet", and found that in my absence I had followed a few thousand new spam accounts. Sweet.
