Hey HN, My name is Jack Naglieri. I’m the founder of Panther Labs - an SF-based cybersecurity startup. Prior to Panther, I was an engineering manager at Airbnb. Before that a security engineer/analyst/forensic analyst. Today, I’m excited to announce Panther v1.0, an open source, cloud-native SIEM: http://github.com/panther-labs/panther Teams can use Panther as an alternative to traditional SIEMs like Splunk. Panther is the culmination of our team’s experience building security tools at scale, including StreamAlert at Airbnb and critical internal monitoring…

We have finally open sourced our Keycloak config operator (I have yet to find a better name) that allows to manage your entire Keycloak configuration in a GitOps fashion through Kubernetes CRDs. Starting is easy, there is an export flow which allows you to export CRDs from your current configuration and then you can apply them as needed. The resources are deliberately raw JSON (I'd love to see a discussion on this) so that its compatible with a wide range of Keycloak versions out of the box. Heavily inspired by the now defunct keycloak realm operator. Feedback and suggestions for…

We're happy to announce an early version of https://github.com/molnett/neon-operator, a Kubernetes operator that allows you to self-host Neon on your own infrastructure. Today we released an open, Valkey-native context layer for AI agents as part of our packages at BetterDB (agent memory, semantic + multi-tier caching, typed retrieval) that run on a Valkey instance no matter where it is - no vendor lock-in. We even started provisioning Valkey instances starting today. Packages are shipped on npm and PyPi. Why we made it: BetterDB originally started as a monitoring and observability platform for Valkey, Redis and any RESP compatible db. This is still the core of the product, but in the process of building this, we kept seeing that one of the fastest-growing…

Hi HN! I’m Zach, co-founder / CTO of Platform Engineering Labs. We’re building formae, an open-source IaC system that stays in sync with real infrastructure instead of relying on manually maintained state and drift detection. We’ve just shipped Kubernetes, Helm, and Terraform .tfvars support. The goal with this release was simple: make it easy to start using formae with infrastructure people already have. formae can now discover existing k8s workloads automatically and the ability to utilize existing Helm charts. Coming from Terraform / OpenTofu and already have variable…
