Demo: https://aether.saphal.me GitHub: https://github.com/saphalpdyl/Aether Aether is a multi-BNG (Broadband Network Gateway) ISP infrastructure lab built almost from scratch that emulates IPoE IPv4 subscriber management end-to-end. It supports IPoE/Ipv4 networks and runs a python-based vBNG with RADIUS AAA, per-subscriber traffic shaping, and traffic simulation emulated on Containerlab. It is also my first personal networking project, built roughly over a month. Motivations behind the project I'm a CS sophomore. About three years ago, I was assigned, as an…

Much of my work right now involves complex, long-running, multi-agentic teams of agents. I kept running into the same problem: “How do I keep these guys in line?” Rules weren’t cutting it, and we needed a scalable, agentic-native STANDARD I could count on. There wasn’t one. So I built one. Here are two open-source protocols that extend A2A, granting AI agents behavioral contracts and runtime integrity monitoring: - Agent Alignment Protocol (AAP): What an agent can do / has done. - Agent Integrity Protocol (AIP): What an agent is thinking about doing / is allowed to do. The problem:…

A lightweight engine for durable execution / deterministic workflows I built with Rust, wasmtime and the WASM Component Model. Its main use is running reliable, long-running workflows that can automatically resume after failures. Looking for feedback on the approach and potential use cases!

Hi HN, I built Ayder — a single-binary, HTTP-native durable event log written in C. The wedge is simple: curl is the client (no JVM, no ZooKeeper, no thick client libs). There’s a 2-minute demo that starts with an unclean SIGKILL, then restarts and verifies offsets + data are still there. Numbers (3-node Raft, real network, sync-majority writes, 64B payload): ~50K msg/s sustained (wrk2 @ 50K req/s), client P99 ~3.46ms. Crash recovery after SIGKILL is ~40–50s with ~8M offsets. Repo link has the video, benchmarks, and quick start. I’m looking for a few early design partners (any…

Hello HN, we're CipherNomad, the research initiative behind this project. The Ariadne Protocol is our exploration of a different cryptographic model. The work began with an observation of primitives like the Lion transform, which use a static, hardcoded sequence of operations. This led us to ask: What if the cryptographic "program" wasn't a constant, but a dynamic, history-dependent variable? Our first step was a "Cryptographic Virtual Machine" that took an explicit list of operations (a "Path"). This worked, but required sharing the Path object—an explicit dependency that needed to be…

Hey Hacker News! We've been building Apache ResilientDB (incubating), a lightweight, modular, and high-performance open-source blockchain framework written in C++. Recently accepted into the Apache Incubator, ResilientDB is designed for flexibility, supporting various Byzantine Fault-Tolerant (BFT) and Crash Fault-Tolerant (CFT) consensus protocols, with native PBFT integration. With features like dynamic client-server architecture, robust checkpoint/recovery, and smart contract support, ResilientDB aims to push distributed ledger tech further. Check us out and join our community:…

Hi HN, Alexey from Chainstack here. We built Chainstack Self-Hosted to package everything we’ve learned from 8+ years of running blockchain nodes into a single control panel. The goal we’re building this product around is to make blockchain infrastructure boring to operate. The software is free to install. You only pay for the infrastructure you run it on. The quickest way to get hands-on with it is through the Vultr Marketplace or one of the other providers listed in the docs. The current release supports Ethereum Mainnet, Sepolia, and Hoodi with Reth + Prysm full nodes. We’ll be adding…

We’ve been working on a new version of Freenet for the last couple of years. The original Freenet dates back to the early 2000s; this is a ground-up rewrite in Rust and is intended as a general-purpose platform for building decentralized systems. The alpha has been running since shortly before Christmas and has been gradually stabilized over the last few weeks, though it is still definitely alpha quality. Freenet is a decentralized key-value store where keys are WebAssembly contracts. These contracts define what values can be associated with a key and how those values are updated. Web…

bit.site dynamically captures all requests to *.bit.site, automatically resolving the IPFS/IPNS/Skynet content hashes for the corresponding .bit account records. It returns the relevant static content via HTTPS, enabling users to access decentralized networks with zero configuration on modern browsers. At the same time, we provide global CDN acceleration, striving to enhance the availability of decentralized content.
